Primarily an opening bat, Eric Szwarczynski started to play at 3 more regularly for his club during the 2005 season. While not a big hitter he is a fine timer of the ball and it was his consistency which caught the eye of the Dutch national selectors. Although he was born in South Africa, he represented both the Netherlands A side and their Under 23 team and opened for the them in the ICC World Cricket League Division One tournament in 2010.
