Lewis McGibbon played 13 matches as a seam bowler for Northamptonshire between 1957 and 1959. His career-best return came in his second match at the start of 1958 when he took 4 for 42 - on his way to match figures of 7 for 97 - against Somerset at Glastonbury but he was unable to show the consistency to hold down a regular place. He is one of a group who took more first-class wickets than he scored runs, and in McGibbon's case his batting was really not his strength as he managed 17 runs in 11 innings. An accountant by profession, he was on the Northamptonshire committee for almost two decades and served for three years as the county's treasurer.
