Afghanistan 137 for 3 (Naib 43, Nabi 38*) beat Nepal 135 for 6 (Khadka 50, Naib 2-20) by seven wickets
Scorecard

Afghanistan's Gulbadin Naib starred with both bat and ball as Nepal's 135 was chased with ease, with Afghanistan winning the Asian Cricket Council Twenty20 Cup in Kirtipur. Nepal were put into bat but were quickly reduced to 23 for 3 in the fifth over, with Naib and Shapoor Zadran providing the strikes. A 71-run fourth-wicket partnership between Paras Khadka and Binod Bhandari helped lend stability to the side, before Khadka fell for a vital 50. Nepal pushed their total to 135 for 7 at the completion of their 20 overs. Naib had the best figures of 2 for 20.

Afghanistan started markedly well in comparison, as openers Karim Sadiq and Naib put up a 43-run partnership. Afghanistan were composed in their chase, losing a further two wickets along the way. Naib finished unbeaten on 43, with Mohammad Nabi striking a valuable 38 off 23 balls, including six boundaries. Afghanistan chased Nepal's total of 137 inside of the 18th over, continuing their unbeaten winning streak in the tournament as they completed four out of four title wins.

Afghanistan were excellent with everything. Congratulation Afghanistan for your outstanding achievement and performance. Nepalese players felt bit difficulty facing fast bowlers. We do have Quality spin attack but when it comes to facing pace quality pace bowlers, we usually fail. So, Cricket Association of Nepal has to think about this. And, finally, i was very happy with the way Paras Khadka played throughout the tournament.

Bravo performance by young and talented Afghan players for outscoring Nepal cricket team in such a crucial match. Also I applaud Napal players for playing outstandingly throughout the whole tournament, I think if they perform like this they have the talent to win the tournament in future. Also not to forget Mohammad Nabi, the Afghan Captain who performed well both bowling and batting during this tournament, he brought the trophy home even though he didn't had has top players like Hamid, Dawlat, Mangal, Shahzad etc.

Even though Nepal lost, Very proud of Nepal's performance. Paras's run out in the 18th over turned out to be crutial. However Afghanistan played better cricket today and deserved to win. Hope Nepal will make it to the T20 WC. Best of Luck Nepal for the qualifiers and also for division 3 tournament.

Bravo !!! Afghanistan won ACC T20 by its U19 players. It looks we have a great back up as well for our National Team. Although Nepal played well, but playing against Afghanistan with world class players is not an easy job anymore. These guys are awesome they made my tears come down with full of happiness and love.

Report Card of the Nepalese Cricket Team after the ACC T20 Cup 2013: Paras Khadka (9/10) Leading from the front and driving the team to their first ever tournament final is a great achievement in itself. He could not make a mark with the bat in the first two games. Nepal lost its second game against Hong Kong and was left in a must win situation against Malaysia. Captain cool stepped in that match by smashing a match winning 87 runs. Another quick fire 44 runs in the last group match ensured that Nepal booked its place in the semifinals and was qualified for the T20 world cup qualifiers. He together with Binod Bhandari stayed in the crease and guided Nepal to the finals. The duo again put on a 71 runs 4th wicket partnership to guide Nepal to a respectable total after Nepal were reduced for 23/3 in the fifth over itself. Parash finished with a run tally of 206 runs from 6 innings and picking up 4 wickets as well. He was also named as the player of the tournament....

Nepal had advanced a step ahead in every manner. Nepali team were able to make the highest total in the tournament, Nepali team fought with all the teams so well that different countries praised the team. Spectators showed how responsible they are. CAN was able to deliver the great tournament. Political parties were taking an example of the Nepali Cricket team.

Well done team Afghanistan. Nepal did very well in the tournament as well and look a pretty decent team and should be a team to watch out for in the future. As for Afghanistan, i am very pleased especially it looks like we have found another much needed decent batsman Najibullah Zadran. Najib performed and scored well consistently. I watched a little bit of him on YouTube and he looks good and technically sound.

Luck Favor to Afghanistan, winning the toss was game changer, and guys Nepal and Afghanistan are similar teams, it's too much hype for Afgans, match with kuwait was turning point to reach semi-final other wise the result would be either.

Afgan was clearly better team but the way Nepal has hosted & played in this tournament was exceptional. Without much infrastructure Nepal has shown the world that Nepal is Next Afghanistan in Cricket. 20000+ Crowd every match & atmosphere of the ground was like it is a World Cup Match...Tournament like this will keep the Cricket alive in Non-test playing Nations. ICC & ACC should focus on country like Nepal, Afghanistan where Cricket is played in true spirit & fans enjoys the match like in Test nations!!

  • Azooz-Afgfan on April 4, 2013, 2:28 GMT

What a tournment these young guns had.Happy to see Afghan youngster getting oppourtunity and they take full use of it and performe like legend. I can say Afghan Cricket backup is fine and coming very fast & Ferious. Beware of it test Nations!

  • on April 3, 2013, 17:22 GMT

NEPAL has done marvelous improvement in international cricket arena. if only ICC had strong rules against the playing conditions for players from test nations, majority of them would not be near to the scenes of this tournament along with others ICC and ACC events. I nearly found 80 % of players are from either Iindia, Pakistan or Bangladesh. eg M Nabi was born of Peshawar and has played only there since time immemorial, Buddhika of Singapore, Irfan of HK, Sushil Nadkarni of USA. This is going to be a long list, but Nepal has played only with its citizen.
