@vikramsihag I think its too early to call Bangladesh an emerging power but they are playing good cricket. If they can make it to the final and win it then they will emerge as a competitive side in world cricket. They are still a long way away from winning test matches and doing well in world cups.

I can well understand how India should be proud of the many cricketing achievements that Sachin's achieved least of all a 100Th century but to proclaim him the greatest cricketer ever, is a farce. His average is half of Don Bradman's and in the Don's day no one wore helmets or were treated to pitches such as the curators are able to deliver today Technology in Bat manufacture was not anywhere near what we have today yet the ball has changed very little. They were paid literary peanuts meaning he had a job outside of cricket that feed his family and a tour of England started with a 4 week journey on a ship to get there not a half day plane flight. There can be no argument from any reputable man that Sachin is not a great cricketer. But Don Bradman has no equal and never will.

WI beating AUS.Nice to see BD playing so well, very good for cricket. They deserve to be there in finals.There are definately few positives for india in this series.I hope they will qualify on their merit in next tournmnt.What funny though is comments from SL fans, they seem more happy to lose so that ind won't qualify. Sadistic i will say. i supported them in CB series becaz they were the best team in the series. Felt really bad for their performance overall in Asia cup.

There are no superlatives left to describe greatness of Sachin. He has no parellel. He is a class on his own. No arguments. But we must put things in perspective. Sachin showed he was human when he could not score fast between 80 & 100 in the match with Bangladesh under enormous pressure to get the 100th monkey off his back, which eventually cost us the match and probably the tournament as well. Had he gone after the bowling and got out in the process, we had still wickets in hand to post a higher score. He is a player who, always, played according to the need of the team and not for records. But this particular innings was un-Sachin like. Pressure tells. A Steve Waugh or Mark Taylor or Adam Gilchrist would have acted differently in similar circumstance. All the same, salutes to Sachin for his great achievement which will not be repeated in the foreseeable future. It is a measure of his popularity that losing to lowly Bangladesh did not invite the ire of the country!

by playing the way they are playing today, Bangladesh has justified HIS century of centuries. HE didn't score it against a street class cricket team but an emerging power in world cricket and that too in their own lair. Bangladesh is awesome-- Sachin's century was awesome too!

@yorklanka Haha I dont think Sri Lanka have won anything outside the subcontinent. While India has won the t20 wc in SA the cb series in 2007, the natwest series, and test series in NZ, WI and Eng Sri Lanka have only made finals and have lost 3-2. Maybe if you're trophy cabinet wasn't empty you're board could afford to pay your players

How did Pakistan Get a Bonus point? Bonus Point - The team that achieves a run rate of 1.25 times that of the opposition shall be awarded one bonus point. A team's run rate will be calculated by reference to the runs scored in an innings divided by the number of overs faced. SL run rate 4.11 - runs scored in an innings (188) divided by the number of overs faced (45.4 overs). PAK run rate 4.74 - runs scored in an innings (189) divided by the number of overs faced (39.5 overs). PAK Run rate is only 1.15 times. The General Presumption of getting a bonus point if team batting first wins by 60 Runs margin and team batting second chases it down in 50 overs will work only if full 50 overs are faced.

for srilanka they have nothing to loose, so, might be upper hand as they have freedom for stroke making, whereas for bangla it is must win situation. so i guess it is difficult for them in a crunch game. even difficult to cross 175 if srilanka scores 350 or more.....if they can score 200 if srilanka scores 300 and above, if srilanka scores 250, it would be hard fight for bangla.....

I mean no insult to any nation or any team, but my own opinion is that Bangladesh has taken too much time to find their place in World Cricket nations. They have yet to win any significant event or trophy. They are just content to fin a game here and a game there. It is strange that they lack qulity players who can play consistently. They belong to the Sub Continenet, where Cricket is like a national sport. It could be due to their physical body, or the food habit, I do not know, but they do not have a good pace bowler for so many years. How can they win with only spinners? And they lack stamina to last 5 days in test matches. If they concentrate only on ODI s and T 20 s and leave test cricket for a couple of years, it would do them and every one a lot of good. The matches should be fought and not a one sided affairs. The viewers should also have some fun, especially for home fans.

I think if BD batted first then it will be a boring and low scoring game but if SL batted first then any thing under 250 is chasable by BDs coz SLns bowling is much better than the Indian bowling. I think that the indians are playing using more batsman with part time bowlers.

Where are Nehra,Zaheer,Munaaf & RP Singh?

They are very good bowlers.

Bangladesh have been a very spirited team just like how Sri Lanka was just before 1996 WC. Lankan's have to get back and play England at home. Hope they beat them fair and square. In regards to this fixture Lanka has to help Bangladesh get in the finals.o the finals. The Lankans can decide who gets in to the finals. How ironic!!!

Some people always criticize BD cricketers. Even S Manjeker said before the match that, BD need 3 or 4 Sakib to win the match, I feel that was an appropriate answer for them as we won with one Sakib. Sometimes one SR Tendulker can not bring team successes. Victory of BD was an execution of team performance. I still remember the semifinal of world cup 1996 (SRI beat badly India), where SRILANKA was an underdog team. Constant good performance brought them the world cup but the only problem of BD Cricketers is, they do not have that consistency. But they proved that they have the class. But look at the Indian side, though they are world champion they are now depending on Srilanka to reach final! The weakest bowling department they have, there are no genuine fast bowler and no good spiner! Tendulkar, Raina, R Sharma are bowling before 25 over in the innings!

The format itself is quite interesting...with new icc head to head criterion, comments here would have been different had India lost the match to pakistan, sri lankans wouldhave smelled chance here. furthermore if they would not have won with a bonus point all three teams would have had 4 points each (head to head wins wont have mattered ) and team with best run rate would have qualified... no doubt bangladesh did themselves world of good by defeating Indians... true potential of players dont get highlighted by one off matches and wid nearly 70 percent of cricketing fan base in asia... the format should have been more long... asia cup can happen once in 3 years or four years wid more matches or introduction of teams like afghanistan and hong kong....

I will be devastated if SL lose today.. Another Kohli masterclass will go in vain. However the positive side is ODI will become a lot more competitive with Bangladesh joining the elite group of consistent teams. I dont care we go into the finals or not...but I m proud of my team that they beat pak and sri lanka..We lost the game against BD credit to them they chased beautifully...Sri lanka is a very good team...I love to watch mahela and malinga...they are my favourite..loss of faith is what comes out in a fan when his team looses..so is happening to SL fans...As for the match..the better team on the day will win..but talking about SL..They r still the team who brought AUS on their knees..hope they will rise again and beat England in the upcoming series..Best of luck SL..

After 90 ODIs, Kapugedara only scored 1,450 runs at average of 21.5%. Is is worth to keep a batsmen of that statistics, after this much chances!!! But he has to be given a one last shot. Don't give him 01 year so absences, give him some good 10-15 matches to play continuously. By the way, send him as the opener as he has showed that he is not confident play 4 down or 5 down, with pressure. But even after 100 matches, if he is not showing any progress, then some serious discussions need to be done. Back in 2006/07, Kapugedara was a very promising batsmen...god knows what happened to him!!!

Bangladesh's biggest problem is that they don't have enough wickets to unleash themselves. In the match with India Tamim and Juhurul took care of that and I think if tamim once again goes over 50 no matter how slow and there is a lot of wickets left after over 15-20 then Bangladesh has the potential to do somewhere around 300 most likely less but still, they have form in batting, fielding, and bowling. How often do we see that happening?

Well for my Indian friends I have a strong feeling that Sri Lanka might give this match to Bangladesh I. Order to knock India out. Well there is a reason for it as well, Sri Lanka is tired to play this series I don't know who agree to have this series. India and Sri Lanka both involved in cb series and it was a known fact either team will go into the finals and make it difficult for them to come In to this tournament. Just look at how many matches Sri Lanka played for the last 15 days. I think it's more than 7 matches and motto of them are prity hard games. Other than this Sri Lanka will give this match to Bangladesh I m quite positive about it. India try not to depend on other teams when you play multinational tournament. Now back to back do Two seriess India depend on other teams. In CB series they depend on Australia and now they depend on Sri Lanka. This is why we call India not world champion they are call home champion.

I must praise the attitude of Indian people becuz all SRI and BD fans are targeting them but still they are commenting back. That should be the attitude. And yes dont understand how SRI can support their own team to lose just to get india out. If BD play well tomorrow, they gonna win, but i wish SRI win and India qualify for the final. @TrevorMax So when India chased down the score of 320 against SL in 36.3 overs at Hobart or 330 in 47.5 overs at Pakistan at Mirpur or SL chase down 271 against Australia in the CB series 2nd final or 280 by Aus in one of CB series league matches, will you say that batsmen of losing side played slowly. You never know what target is good for a pitch when batting first. You try to play according to the situation and conditions and make as much runs you can make. It also depends on the ability and experience of the bowlers in defending the total and tactics of the captain. There is no one single factor for win or loss.

I don't know who I want to win. If Bangladesh wins, it will be a huge achievement for them which I am happy for. The win will also ensure Pakistan's second Asia Cup even before the final. But on the other hand, I want India to play final. This will be another opportunity for Pakisan to take revenge. As a Pakistani fan, we don't have anything to loose now. Pakistan have lost so many times in this 21st century to India that another loss would not hurt us much, we are pretty numb by now.

I m from Pakistan. Congrats to all Indians the way they played against us the other day n i don't understand why so much negativity for Indian team from Srilankans fan? India played v well and deserve to be in final. If BD play well tomorrow they gonna win, n that wud be good for them, but i personally want SRI to win tomorrow's match so we can have another Indo-Pak match and guess what? it will be Asia Cup final. @Empty-Sequence @cool2cool and other comments regarding Indo-Pak friendship and good cricketing relation, great brothers, you seem to have good mentality. it will be a hard battle for bangla to beat sl, where they've no win in the tournament. sl will try hard to go off with a win in the bag, irrespective of india goes thru or not. but with the new found nasir/ nizam and others, with the new found consistency, and most of all, with the new found confidence playing in their mother soil, bangla possesses a great chance to winning it off to go to the final. at the end, sl will be happy to losing thou, as india, their arch rival will be kicked out once again as in aus just weeks ago. what a drama, what a climex, what are emotions in the subcontinent, the place with king of emotions in the world. that's the color of asia cup bangladesh has given to this tournament this time. i'll be watching far far away, from this land of 'no cricket', from thousands of miles away. good luck to both the teams, especially my beloved bangladesh.

SL should play only the 100% fit players. No point taking any risks. A win in this match means nothing, whereas an injury to a key player will be a huge problem, in view of the test series against England next week.

As an Indian fan I want to see India in the finals. Still I wish the very best to the Bangla team. If there is one team that has showed some spine in this tournament, it's Bangladesh. Pak with all their bowling prowess was nothing in front the Indian lineup. The Indian bowling attack brings disgrace to the word attack'. And the Sri Lankan team with all the media hype about captaincy change has failed to meet expectations. Thus Bangladesh is easily the best team.

@Sabbir Love: You exactly right. IND fate has always depended on how other teams in a multilateral series perform. Recent one was CBseries and many competition before that. However SL does not have anything to loose, if they win it will be huge favor to IND. BD is looking pretty good, and it is a 50/50 chance.

BD team hardly show a DIE HARD performance against big teams in back to back matches. Their inconsistency is the main problem and that is hampering their progress in world arena. Bangladesh wins many matches like a unbeatable side (include the last match). However, in very next match they break just like a shattered glass. I always concern about their consistency rather than talents. Talents is there but FLOWNESS of being more consistent is missing. They need someone who can boost up their confidence level and that will propel them to become one of the strong cricket teams in the world.

India should concentrate more on building up a good pace attack. Munaf Patel is back in action from an injury and he's bowling well. Going by his fitness, he should just be in the ODI scheme of things for India. The best ODI fast bowlers could be Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Munaf Patel, Ashok Dinda, Abhimanyu Mithun et al.

But for tests, India should develop the following....Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Sresaanth, Ishant Sharma, Pradeep Sangwan, Jaydev Unadkat et al

I wonder where is Aashish Nehra.....Poor guy has done well enough to be in the ODI scheme of things at least.

The statistics show that SL must be the favourites for the match. However the statistics do not show the new found confidence and never say attitude the tigers have gained. SL are all ready battle weary due to an intense schedule and have failed miserably so far in this tournament. I am a die-hard Lankan supporter but this is one game I do not mind losing just to see India knocked out & Bangladesh play in the finals at home and have a shot at winning the asia cup. its bout time we see some real progress out of that country.

Bangladesh are most likely going to beat Sri Lanka now. They can no longer be known as the "Minnows" because in the past two years alone, they have already beaten the likes of England, West Indies, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and now India. Sri Lanka as you may know are out of the tournament now so its very unlikely they will care about this last match against Bangladesh considering the fact they have a very important two match Test series next week. You must also acknowledge the fact that the Sri Lankan's have had a heavy schedule this year and are clearly tired. It looks to me as Bangladesh will meet Pakistan in the final and that would be best since Bangladesh are the hosts.

Being a Bangladeshi, I would love to see Bangladesh in the final. But I have a feeling Srilanka is going to win. Their bowling attack is much better than India's.
