Ford Ranger Cup

Western Australia v Queensland

Western Australia won by 2 wickets (with 3 balls remaining)

Good afternoon and welcome to the WACA for the opening match of the 2009/2010 Ford Ranger Cup between Western Australia and Queensland A few new names for both teams but most notably Ashley Noffke lining up for WA against his former state, Queensland. WA have won the toss and have sent Queensland in to bat. Michael Hogan and Wes Robinson making their limited overs debut for Western Australia too. Overcast conditions in Perth, which should assist the seamers early. Plenty of fire power up the top of the order for the Bulls with Broad and Reardon very big hitters if they get going. A new rule in the Ford Ranger Cup this year. No new ball after 34 overs, but they'll be using a new ball from each end, meaning each ball will be used for just 25 overs. Two debutant bowlers for Queensland - Cutting and McDermott - the latter of course the son of former Australian bowler Craig McDermott.
