7-1 Australia's win-loss record in ODIs in Perth since the beginning of 2010. Their one defeat during this period came against England earlier this year, when they lost by 57 runs. The only other venue where they have been as dominant during this period is in Brisbane.
166 Innings in which AB de Villiers reached 7000 ODI runs, the fastest ever by any batsman. The previous record was held by Saurav Ganguly, who reached this landmark in 174 innings. However, this record is likely to be soon broken by Virat Kohli (currently 6069 runs in 137 inns), and then Hashim Amla (currently 4798 runs in 96 inns) in succession.
1124 Runs scored by de Villiers in his last 20 ODI innings, including four hundreds and six fifties. He has averaged 80.28 during this period, at a strike rate of 114.46.
9 Number of Australian batsman who made double-figure scores. If Nathan Coulter-Nile, who remained not-out on 9, had scored one more run, it would have been the first instance of ten Australian batsmen making double-figure scores in an ODI. Across countries, there have been four instances of ten batsmen getting to double figures, with all 11 players never achieving this.
10 Number of Australian batsman who struck at least one four or six. This is the first such instance for Australia in ODIs. It's only the tenth time that any team has had ten batsmen hitting a four or a six in an ODI innings. (All 11 have never managed this.) The previous instance was by England against New Zealand at Lord's in 2013, and the one before that by Ireland against South Africa in the 2011 World Cup.
78 Instances of Australia posting a score of 300 or more in ODIs. Only India have made more such scores (82), though Australia have won 68 of their games, while India have only managed 66 wins. This was the second time that they made exactly 300, the other instance being against Pakistan in 1990.
126 The partnership between de Villiers and David Miller, only the second century stand for the fifth wicket for South Africa against Australia in Australia. Hansie Cronje and Jonty Rhodes had added 134 in Sydney in 1998.
62 Runs conceded by Dale Steyn, for two wickets, in ten overs. This is the second-most runs conceded by Steyn when he has taken two or more wickets in an ODI. The most he has conceded is 65, when he took three wickets against Zimbabwe in 2007. These are the only two instances where he has conceded 60-plus runs under the said circumstances.
104 Runs scored by Australia in the last ten overs of their innings. They went from 196 in 40 overs, to 300 in 50. Since 2001, this is the 26th instance of Australia scoring 100-plus runs in the last ten overs of an ODI innings, with only India having done it more often (29). Australia are followed by South Africa (23).
10 Number of overs bowled by Vernon Philander in this game. This is only the third time in 17 ODI innings that Philander has bowled his full quota of ten overs. He returned figures of 4 for 45, his second four-for in ODIs. He is yet to take a five-wicket haul.
2 Runs scored by Quinton de Kock in this game. He has five single-figure scores in his last seven ODI innings. He had only three single-figure scores from 24 career ODI games before that. Over the last seven innings, his ODI career average has dropped by about six runs, from 49.2 to 43.6.
