Middle order Batter

An offspinner and compact middle-order batsmen, Tom de Grooth has not really made ther most of his chances. He was chosen to attend the ICC Winter training Camp in 2005-06, and Andy Moles said: "Tom's biggest challenge is to make sure he is not happy with mediocrity. He has got the game and his attitude is excellent but now he must go on and make the most of the talent he has." One of the three players contracted with the Netherlands board, the highlight of de Grooth's career came in the 2009 World Twenty20 in England, where he struck a crucial 49 in his team's memorable win in the tournament opener against the hosts.
