Jarrad Burke is an accomplished left-handed top-order batsman who adds to his value with left-arm spin. Named the 2004-05 Bill O'Reilly Medal winner as the best and fairest in Sydney grade cricket, he joined the state squad and a year later played in three Twenty20 matches for the Blues. Burke's career highlight came with Australia Under-19 selection and he finished the age-group's 2001-02 World Cup with an unbeaten century against South Africa as Australia won the title. An Academy graduate in 2002, he captained New South Wales to the Under-19 Australian Championships victory the previous summer.
