Wayne Blinco commenced his umpiring in his home town of Dalby and is a member of the Queensland Country Umpires Panel, president of the Dalby Umpires Association, and the umpires delegate to Western Downs Cricket Council. A right hand batsman and right arm off spin bowler he played club cricket with Waratahs and with Colts, both in Dalby Cricket Association, and played in Under 16 trials. He was educated at Dalby State School and Dalby High School, going farming after grade 10. His is now a night fill manager in a local supermarket. (Warwick Torrens, January 2003)
