A massive crowd of 16,987 came to watch Justin Langer's Retravision Warrior's take on Steve Waugh's New South Wales Blues.
The Warriors won the game by 23 runs to take an eight-point lead in the ING Cup with three games to play.
The massive crowd beat the old mark of 16,321 that was set in 1986-87 when WA played Victoria.
The crowd even beat the mark set at least years ING Cup final between WA and NSW when 15,429 saw the Blues triumph.
The original final crowd of 16,238 had to be revised after new figures came to light today.
Warriors major sponsor Retravision issued over 4,500 people tickets in a statewide promotion. The WACA would like to acknowledge the support Retravision gave the WACA in making the WA versus NSW match a phenomenal success.
The WACA had to close the public gates during the NSW innings as all available public seating had been sold such was the interest in the game.
The WACA is expecting a massive crowd for the Pura Cup match at the WACA Ground against NSW that starts this Friday.
The match will be Jo Angel's last match for WA and it will the last first-class match in WA for Steve and Mark Waugh.
Gates open at 10.00am and the match gets underway at 11.00am
