Gerard Denton, who left Tasmania in the off season, has been named in the Victoria squad for their first Pura Cup match of the season against South Australia at Adelaide Oval, starting on Saturday.
Denton was joined in the 12-man squad by the wicketkeeper Peter Roach, who replaces the retired Darren Berry after winning the battle with the Australia Under-19 gloveman Adam Crosthwaite.
The batsman Jason Arnberger has been ruled out due to a bulging disk in his back and is expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks.
