Western Australia settled for the draw on the final day in Hobart, using the first two sessions essentially as batting practice before declaring at tea, 521 ahead. With two bowlers down (Brad Hogg with an infected finger, Ben Edmondson with a side strain) Adam Voges didn't think twice about going for the outright win.

Tasmania reached 1 for 75 before an early declaration, once Michael di Venuto had made his fifty, brought the game to a close.

Justin Langer and Chris Rogers continued in dominant form, moving to an opening stand of 208, including Langer's 79th first-class century as he passed Don Bradman to become the 14th highest runscorer for all states. Langer reached 121, with 16 fours, before di Venuto caught him off Brendan Drew.

As is so often the case once a partnership is broken, the next wicket fell quickly, with Rogers edging through off Ben Hilfenhaus for 87. Enter Shaun Marsh and Michael Hussey who each pummelled their way to unbeaten fifties in a stand worth 150 before Voges, who had previously opted not to enforce the follow-on, finally called them in.

Michael Dighton was the only casualty of Tasmania's second innings, caught behind for 9 off Darren Wates. Di Venuto then made a fifty, his second of the match, before Dan Marsh called proceedings to a halt.

The Warriors take two first-innings points away from the draw.
