Watson out of Queensland FR Cup match
Shane Watson will sit out of Queensland's FR Cup match on Sunday after suffering soreness in his left hamstring during their Pura Cup loss on Thursday. Watson's latest problem has yet to be assessed but the Bulls are confident it is only a minor concern.
He left the field halfway through bowling his third over in Tasmania's second innings at Bellerive Oval after completing 25 overs in the first innings. Watson's hamstrings have been a source of major frustration for the allrounder - he missed last season's Ashes series due to ongoing injuries and he was unavailable for the start of this summer after more problems occurred.
The Bulls have added Ryan Broad to their one-day squad for Sunday's fixture against Tasmania in Launceston as a replacement for Watson. They might also lose their captain Jimmy Maher, with Greg Moller placed on standby in case Maher has to fly home unexpectedly for the birth of his third child.
Tasmania have named an unchanged squad for their home match. A win for the Tigers would assure them of a home one-day final, while a victory for Queensland would keep them in the hunt despite their woes in the longer form of the game.
Tasmania squad Michael Dighton, Travis Birt, Dane Anderson, George Bailey, Daniel Marsh (capt), Tim Paine (wk), Jason Krejza, Mark Divin, Xavier Doherty, Brett Geeves, Brendan Drew, Ben Hilfenhaus.
Queensland squad Ryan Broad, Nathan Reardon, James Hopes, Jimmy Maher (capt), Clinton Perren, Craig Philipson, Chris Simpson, Aaron Nye, Ashley Noffke, Chris Hartley (wk), Michael Kasprowicz, Scott Brant.
