Jayde Herrick and Glenn Maxwell combined to run through Tasmania's top order and give Victoria the edge at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Doolan was kept company by Luke Butterworth, who ended the day on 42 not out. Their unbroken stand stood at 103 at stumps, with Tasmania still 192 behind.

Earlier in the day, Victoria pushed on from 299 for 6 to 362, on the back of a century from Matthew Wade. Victoria lost Clint McKay off the third ball of the morning, but Wade and James Pattinson - who remained unbeaten on 27 - made sure the side got past 350. James Faulkner, Xavier Doherty and Evan Gulbis finished with three wickets each for Tasmania.
