Queensland 282 and 0 for 15 v New South Wales 277 (Nevill 69, Cruickshank 52, Boyce 3-23, Cutting 3-54, Swan 3-78)
Scorecard

Doug Bollinger limped off with an ankle injury seven deliveries into his second innings after New South Wales had failed narrowly to pinch first innings points from Queensland in the Sheffield Shield match at the Gabba.

Having been all but barred from Test cricket due to a perceived lack of fitness, Bollinger's exit will do little to help his chances of returning to the longest form of the game, and it will also hinder the Blues chances of restricting the hosts, who reached stumps at none for 15.

Queensland had seemed likely to claim a comfortably first innings lead when NSW slipped to 6 for 142, Chris Swan and Ben Cutting cutting through the bulk of the batting.

But handy contributions from Moises Henriques and the wicketkeeper Peter Nevill, who added 53 with the last man Josh Hazlewood, left the Blues a mere five runs short of the Bulls' 282.
