Queensland v Tasmania Match abandoned

Torrential rain washed out the Ryobi Cup match between Queensland and Tasmania at the Gabba without a ball being bowled. Brisbane and the surrounding areas suffered exceptionally heavy rainfalls on Sunday as ex-tropical cyclone Oswald moved down the coast.

The abandonment could be significant in shaping the final points table, with the Bulls sitting third and the Tigers fourth with two matches each remaining. Victoria and South Australia are at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, we're sitting in Tasmania basking in the sunshine. Funny how our weather is always bagged. With the terrible weather forecasts in Brisbane, perhaps some thought could have been given to the Bulls flying to Hobart for such an important game. All too hard, I guess !!!!

Tasmania look to have done their dash now with this washout. I had thought they were a pretty good bet for top-three, especially with Ponting and Paine in the mix.

Shame it got washed out, i was predicting big innings from Khawaja for the Bulls and Punter for Tasmania, We missed out on a cracker of a match.

I know there was a cyclone up North, but reckon if it was a position where Sri Lanka had to bat this game would have got under way as the ACB is clearly against Sri Lanka.
