Matthew Wade made his case for reconsideration at international level with his seventh first-class century as Victoria moved along to a solid score of 6 for 339 against Tasmania. On another rain-affected day in Hobart the Victorians batted through until stumps, having started the day on 3 for 119, and at the close of play Wade was still at the crease on 107 alongside Daniel Christian on 17.
It was Wade's first century in the longer format since being dropped from the Test side and he has the chance to go on and turn it into his highest first-class score on the third day. Earlier, Rob Quiney added 25 to his overnight score before he was bowled by Xavier Doherty for 82 and the nightwatchman Scott Boland compiled 51 from 212 deliveries.
