Edward Wilkinson was a wicketkeeper and lower-order batsman who played three times for Cambridge University in 1873 after a successful two years in the XI at Eton. He made little impression but continued to play a high standard of club cricket turning out regularly for I Zingari. He was killed while serving in the army at Scheins Hoogte during the first Boer War.
