20.6 to Williamson, and gone. This was almost inevitable with that shuffle and nudge routine. Williamson again gets too far across the stumps mindful of Lyon's smart spin and drift. This one breaks in and bounces extra towards the hips again, and since he is so far across, Williamson can't keep the nudge down, and works it onto the thigh. He pops it amiably towards Khawaja, who happily makes up for the miss. 78/3

74.6 to Bracewell, how well has Lyon bowled on his first trip to this ground? Bracewell is gone, playing for the spin against a deceptive over-spinner and that's an 18-ball duck. Lyon tossed this up outside off and it goes on straight to skim the outside edge, straight into first slip's hand. 259/8

106.5 to Siddle, Vettori strikes, removes Siddle, drifted in from round the wicket and turned away, Siddle stabbed at it, got a thick edge and Rosco made no mistake at slip, can New Zealand sneak back in? 345/7

1.1 to Warner, Warner's gone and it is New Zealand's morning fair and square. Southee starts off with a bustling short ball from over the stumps, angling across at an uncomfortable angle. Stunningly well-directed bouncer that, but not the best example of how to play one either. Warner didn't seem keen on dropping the wrists. Not sure what he was trying to do. He was swaying back, with the hands in front of the chest, and the ball just kept coming at it. It took the glove and went straight into Young's bigger gloves. 3/1

6.1 to Hughes, gotcha with a ripper and a superb catch! Hughes has to go now. Martin sprints in and delivers on a perfect length, but it is almost outside leg. It then hits the seam and darts across, opening up Hughes and catching him completely out of balance as he looks to defend. It moved so much, it took the outside edge and flew low to gully. Guptill is among the best there, he dives forward and plucks it inches above the turf. 25/2

52.4 to Ponting, Ponting's knock has ended, trapped in front by Chris Martin. This one swung in and landed on middle and was moving towards leg, Ponting walked across a hint and tried to drive that through the on-side, towards midwicket, but missed. It struck him in line, and Aleem Dar raised his finger as Martin went up. Ponting called for a review, and replays showed the ball would have clipped leg stump. It was the umpire's call, and Dar's decision was upheld. 177/4

Pattinson bowled that from slightly wide of the crease and got it to nip away from short of a good length, McCullum moved slightly across and tried to play that with soft hands but the pace and bounce was too good for the ball to drop down, edged it straight into the hands of second slip, Ponting took it just in front of his head, Australia on top 10/1

8.2 to Guptill, didn't take too long for Australia to strike this morning! Pattinson was aiming for the body, Guptill couldn't fend it off properly, was on the ribs and the ball lobs off the top half of the bat and Khawaja takes it easily at short leg 17/2

8.4 to Williamson, what a start so far for Pattinson! Better still he has sent back two specialist batsmen, angles this from outside off and gets it to shape inwards, induces Williamson to drive at it, thick outside edge and Ponting judges it well to his right at second slip 17/3

8.5 to Taylor, would you believe it he's on a hat-trick! Boy what's happening to New Zealand this morning! Pitched up outside the off stump, he moved across and had a poke at it, got the bottom half of the bat and Haddin takes it easily 17/4

12.3 to Bracewell, The procession continues! Pattinson takes five on debut, he pitches it up outside off and induces the drive, Bracewell's intentions were right but he failed to drive through the line, thin edge through to Haddin 28/5

40.6 to Brownlie, that's exactly what I was saying - a short ball that makes him play, outside the off stump and he's tempted into the upper cut, he ends up lobbing it tamely towards point where Warner runs across and takes the catch easily, the umpires check to see if it was a no ball but it was legal 123/8

21.2 to Ryder, well I guess I spoke too soon! Tossed up outside off, quite generous with the flight, Ryder wanted to take him on straight away by coming down the pitch, scoops it but can't beat mid-off, Hussey cups it over his head 69/6

Soft dismissal, he tries to steer it down to third man, risky proposition considering there was a slip in place, the ball bounced a bit more than he expected, Clarke takes it at deep first slip.
