Border-Gavaskar Trophy - 4th Test

Australia v India

Match drawn

Overs 1-50  | Overs 51-100  | Overs 101-150  | Overs 151-200

10.55 am local time: Moments away from the start of this massive Test. The Australians stride out with purpose, Brett Lee has the new ball and he's been awesome during this series. Virender Sehwag and Irfan Pathan have the responsibility to seeing him out. Asad Rauf and Billy Bowden are one again the men whose decisions will be scrutinised. I'm George Binoy and I'll be your commentator for this Test.

Pathan has opened before, he made 93 against Sri Lanka in Delhi but it will be Sehwag who will take strike. Lee steams in from over the wicket with three slips and a gully.

10.50 am: The teams are lining up for their national anthems. Incidentally, this match is Sachin Tendulkar's 146th Test, he's moved ahead of Shane Warne and is third on the list of most capped players, behind Steve Waugh and Allan Border.

Toss, 10.30 am: Anil Kumble calls heads and he calls correctly. India will bat and they are playing five bowlers. Harbhajan Singh comes in for Wasim Jaffer and Irfan Pathan will open the batting with Virender Sehwag. Ponting said he had been preparing for Harbhajan, who has got the better of the Australian captain in this series. We'll have to wait a bit for that battle.

Matthew Hayden is back at the top of the Australian line-up and the chinaman bowler Brad Hogg replaces Shaun Tait, who had a poor game in Perth.

The skies are blue for the moment, so good news on that front. The pitch is expected to aid the fast bowlers for the first hour before settling down into a good batting track.

10.15 am Greetings everybody, and welcome to the final Test match of what has been an eventful series between Australia and India, to say the least. The series is poised at 2-1 in Australia's favour and the spectators at the Adelaide Oval can consider themselves lucky, for this is the first time that the last Test of a series in Australia isn't a dead rubber since South Africa's tour in 2005-06.

We're about 15 minutes away from the toss and teams announcement. Australia are likely to bring in Brad Hogg, although Ponting refused to rule out Shaun Tait. And the word is that India could play five bowlers, although Dinesh Karthik is also in the fray.

The weather forecast for Adelaide isn't the best though. Today's prediction is "rain clearing", while there are thunderstorms forecast for Friday and Saturday, and sunny weather for Sunday. But that's looking far too far ahead, lets take it a day at a time and hope for predominantly clear skies today.
