New Zealand tour of Australia, 2nd ODI: Australia v New Zealand at Melbourne, Feb 6, 2009
New Zealand won by 6 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)
06 February 2009 - day/night match (50-over match)

Mills to Warner, OUT, all too easy for Dan the Man, Warner tries to go over the top but fails to get under a pitched-up delivery on the off stump, the ball travels off the splice of the bat and Vettori takes the skier very easily at mid-off, a colleague of mine described the shot perfectly - a beach cricket slog

DA Warner c Vettori b Mills 2 (10m 11b 0x4 0x6) SR: 18.18

Australia 4/1   MJ Clarke 2* (5b)   KD Mills 1.4-1-2-1

Southee to Haddin, OUT, very cheap dismissal there, Southee keeps it slightly wide of the offstump, the ball holds its line after pitching and Haddin tries to cut without really getting beside the line of the ball, he gets a tame edge to McCullum, he tried to steer it down to third man actually

BJ Haddin c †McCullum b Southee 12 (29m 20b 1x4 0x6) SR: 60.00

Australia 35/2   MJ Clarke 20* (29b 2x4)   TG Southee 5-0-25-1

O'Brien to DJ Hussey, OUT, direct hit and David Hussey's got to go! He pushes a good length ball in front of mid-off and takes a chance with a sharp single to Vettori, unfortunately he taps it to Vettori's left and that enables him to gather the ball quickly and fire it on the stumps with his throwing arm, the third umpire takes a look and Hussey's just short of the crease

DJ Hussey run out 10 (30m 22b 1x4 0x6) SR: 45.45

Australia 63/3   MJ Clarke 38* (54b 3x4)   IE O'Brien 3.5-0-14-0

O'Brien to MEK Hussey, OUT, the slower ball consumes him this time, he goes for a wild flat batted slog but mistimes it completely, Vettori takes it easily at midwicket running backwards slightly

MEK Hussey c Vettori b O'Brien 75 (115m 94b 4x4 0x6) SR: 79.78

Australia 196/4   MJ Clarke 95* (129b 7x4)   IE O'Brien 8-0-33-1

O'Brien to Clarke, OUT, and Clarke misses out on a century! O'Brien bowls an inswinging yorker down the leg side, Clarke steps down the track and tries to clip it wide of midwicket, the ball hits his pad and deflects on to the stumps

MJ Clarke b O'Brien 98 (197m 133b 7x4 0x6) SR: 73.68

Australia 206/5   CL White 7* (6b)   IE O'Brien 8.4-0-36-2
