South Africa in Australia T20I Series - 1st T20I

Australia v South Africa

Australia won by 52 runs

3.2

Tsotsobe to Marsh, OUT, caught! It's Morkel again! Tsotsobe bowls a poor ball on Marsh's pads, he whips it hard but it's in the air and in the vicinity of Morkel lurking at short fine leg, he dives to his right and pulls off a low catch, that's Tsotsobe's first international wicket!

SE Marsh c Morkel b Tsotsobe 9 (14m 9b 1x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

Australia 38/1   DA Warner 28* (11b 3x4 2x6)   LL Tsotsobe 1.2-0-12-1

9.3

Morkel to Ponting, OUT, caught! Ponting tries to clear the long-on boundary but doesn't quite make it, he holes out to Dale Steyn in the deep, it was a length ball and he hit it well, just not well enough for the MCG

RT Ponting c Steyn b Morkel 21 (26m 19b 1x4 0x6) SR: 110.52

Australia 97/2   DA Warner 65* (29b 6x4 5x6)   JA Morkel 0.3-0-4-1

13.4

Ntini to DJ Hussey, OUT, caught! Hussey makes room by moving towards leg and eventually has to reach out for the ball outside off stump, he hits it with the bottom of the bat and the ball lobs towards de Villiers at cover, that's a pretty easy catch to take

DJ Hussey c de Villiers b Ntini 19 (20m 12b 1x4 1x6) SR: 158.33

Australia 140/3   DA Warner 89* (42b 7x4 6x6)   M Ntini 2.4-0-33-1

13.5

Ntini to Warner, OUT, Warner's gone! He won't get his hundred on debut but he's done enough to get a standing ovation from the massive MCG crowd. Warner tried to lift Ntini off his pads but didn't quite get the power or the placement, he lofted the ball towards deep midwicket where de Villiers settled under the ball

DA Warner c de Villiers b Ntini 89 (64m 43b 7x4 6x6) SR: 206.97

Australia 140/4   CL White 0* (0b)   M Ntini 2.5-0-33-2

15.4

Morkel to White, OUT, caught! Another full ball, on middle stump this time, and White goes after it. He lofts the ball high towards the deep midwicket boundary. "Get up, get up" says Warner from the dug out but White hasn't hit far enough. Kallis runs to his left and takes a superbly judged catch, he looks down to see how far away from the boundary he is, he's alright!

CL White c Kallis b Morkel 7 (8m 5b 0x4 1x6) SR: 140.00

Australia 154/5   MEK Hussey 7* (6b)   JA Morkel 2.4-0-22-2

15.6

Morkel to MEK Hussey, OUT, slower ball from Morkel at 112 kmh, Hussey pushes towards mid-off and sets off for the single, Gibbs sprints from extra cover and intercepts, he throws himself into a full-length dive and hits the stumps direct at the bowler's end, there's no need for a replay

MEK Hussey run out 7 (8m 8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 87.50

Australia 154/6   L Ronchi 0* (0b)   JA Morkel 3-0-22-2

17.4

Steyn to Ronchi, OUT, caught! Terrific effort from Ntini! Ronchi makes room again and slashes the ball high in the air towards third man, I think Ntini mis-judged it a bit and the ball looked like it was going to fall short off him. But he came in, dived forward and held the catch centimeters off the grass

L Ronchi c Ntini b Steyn 11 (8m 5b 2x4 0x6) SR: 220.00

Australia 168/7   JR Hopes 3* (5b)   DW Steyn 2.4-0-34-1

19.3

Steyn to Hopes, OUT, caught! Steyn bowls another slower one at 119 kmh, Hopes makes room to hit inside out over cover but gets beaten by the change of pace, he lobs a simple catch towards Botha

JR Hopes c Botha b Steyn 13 (15m 14b 0x4 0x6) SR: 92.85

Australia 180/8   NW Bracken 1* (2b)   DW Steyn 3.3-0-37-2

19.5

Steyn to Bracken, OUT, bowled him! Bracken moves outside leg stump to make room, Steyn bowls the ball fast, full and dead straight, he beats Bracken for pace and hits middle stump

NW Bracken b Steyn 1 (10m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Australia 181/9   BW Hilfenhaus 0* (1b)   DW Steyn 3.5-0-37-3
