Owais Shah has clarified the delay in the 25% of his $75,000 payment was because of an error in the bank details he had provided. He had initially complained about not being paid despite receiving a remittance slip from the BCB and had termed the situation "embarrassing" for the board.
"In regards to my initial payment of 25 percent, the issue has been rectified," Shah said in an email sent via his agent. "Initially, the bank details I provided to the BCB didn't seem to go through properly which was unfortunate. It resulted in the delay but the BCB have acted very efficiently and I'm now happy with where things stand, which is great."
BCB's acting chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said Shah's reaction was "premature" as the payments often take a few extra days to process. The bank had confirmed on Thursday that the transfer of the amount was not possible without the correct IBAN (International Bank Account Number).
"A player of Owais Shah's reputation gave a premature reaction in the public domain. This is regrettable," Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo. "Our bank sent us a correspondence on Thursday that the IBAN was incorrect and hence, his agent provided us with the information again and we had to make the transfer once again. Apart from the IBAN, a player has to provide his name, account number and swift code in order to transfer money from the country. In good faith, we had also given him the remittance slip that the bank provided us, so it is quite clear where we stand in this regard."

BPL seems to be helping out Bangladesh unlike IPL or SLPL which is ruining cricket in their respective countries. Hopefully Bang will put up a very good fight when they tour SL next as they are quiet dangerous in the sub continent.
Its good to see clarify of payment issue. BPL rocking...
Posted by rsmehdihasan on (February 3, 2013, 15:55 GMT)I hope next time BCB and Franchise will work more closely for any kind of late payment controversy. The problem is alreay this kind incidents have damaged BPL reputation. Still not sure about local players payment as Razzak who showed his concern few days back, still did not confirm his paymen. I think it is also impirtant that local players also get paid in time. and next time hope precaution will be taken by BCB before any payment burst up comes out. Do not want to see this happen again
Posted by AzAb12754 on (February 3, 2013, 13:44 GMT)Absolutely agree with Luke, BPL has done wonders for Bangladesh Cricket while the other leagues have damaged their International teams. BPL isn't that long lasting almost a month and once that is over, our players can draw so much confidence and positives from it and can enhance and develop their skills further. After BPL, it will allow our team to focus completely on International and Domestic assignments and perform really well in the long form and 50 over games so I like how Bangladesh Cricket is going now, won't be surprised if it surpasses teams like New Zealand, Sri Lanka etc soon. Not only we have BPL for T20, we have the new BCL for the long form and DPL for 50 overs. Bangladesh Cricket is going on the right track.

Posted by spiritoflegend on (February 3, 2013, 12:12 GMT)Expect more mature behavior from the overseas players coz ur premature statement creates false propaganda and helps some idle people to alive suddenly.
Posted by Third_Gear on (February 3, 2013, 7:31 GMT)When Shah complained wrongly it came as lead report in the the front page but when he admits he mistake why it does not come to the front page as lead NEWS ????????
Posted by abcdef_12345 on (February 3, 2013, 5:15 GMT)CrICkeeet, I know you are a Pakistani fan.You are now talking against Tim May because he spoke against PSL.Stop acting like a BPL fan.
Posted by Satan_in_Game on (February 3, 2013, 4:08 GMT)I'm really excited to see how local boys are chipping in almost in every game. I feel like sometimes it's better not to have star players in a team as locals feel the responsibilities and try to contribute. Fielding was a real concern in first season, but this time I feel like watching Jhoty Rhodes fielding in every game. This is the real spirit of the game and will continue till the end. Best of Luck!
