Dhaka Gladiators 115 for 2 (Shakib 54, Dilshan 49*) beat Barisal Burners 114 for 9 (Mahmood 30, Liddle 2-16) by eight wickets
Scorecard

Dhaka Gladiators returned on top of the points table after posting their seventh win in the competition. They crushed Barisal Burners by eight wickets and with 44 balls to spare as the Burners' hopes of a final four finish took a beating.

Shakib Al Hasan's half-century hastened the victory and ended the night game early. Shakib struck 54 off 31 balls with seven boundaries and a six, and was helped on the way by Tillakaratne Dilshan who made an unbeaten 49 off 39 balls. The pair came together after Mohammad Ashraful fell to a pull shot off Azhar Mahmood in the second over of the small chase, and added 92 runs for the second wicket.

Shakib was particularly attacking and played some splendid shots off the four-pronged seam attack of the Burners. Afghanistan fast bowler Hamid Hassan's debut match at the BPL ended without a wicket as he went for 28 off his four overs.

But batting seemed more difficult when the Burners batted first after they were stifled to 114 for 9 in 20 overs. Mahmood made 30 off 33 balls but found no support as Brad Hodge fell for 12 and Sabbir Rahman, the other in-form batsman in the Burners line-up, made only 18 off 14 balls.

Mashrafe Mortaza, Alfonso Thomas, Shakib Al Hasan and Chris Liddle took two wickets each.

Well we have got couple of good players in this BPL for sure who may perform for Bangladesh in T20. They are- 1. Shamsur Rahman, 2. Nazmul Hossain Milon, 3. Subbir Rahman,4.Taizur,5. Enamul hoque.

Don't really understand who is more greedy, franchises or players? Shakib clearly recommended for some rests and he keeps playing, even bowling! Does it really necessary for a team like Dhaka to play him with the cost of his future?

Its important Saqibul also takes some rest and look after himself so injuries will be kept to a minimum. He needs to regain back his number 1 position in one day and tests and dominate them.

Can anybody explain, why is Shakib playing in this BPL? He is suffering from injury and as per the news he may need to take month long break to heal the injury. So, is he going to take break when its time for national duty? Someone/BCB needs to help him to take right decision. If he is injured lets not play with that and worsening the situation.

Everything looks really bright for Bangladesh. However, to become a very good team we need another two good pace bowler and one off spinner. Need raw fast bowlers who can bowl 130-140 or more. Hopefully, we will produce pitch which will be supporting speed bowlers.

Way to go shakib....:D Incredible performance with ball & bat. playing with injury but still flawless

If he plays like that in Sri Lanka and gets another 5 wickets and a 100 then that number 1 position look very likely to come back to him.

Shakib shouldnt play if qualification is guaranteed, we need him for SriLanka.

Is Shakib still playing with injuries? His all-round per4mance was outstanding for DG but it won't help national interest. He shud b rested & given enuf time to recover 4m injuries. Otherwise BD will severely miss his service in SL & Zim tours.

if shakib plays this way in upcoming tests too, lankans will certainly panic

I want to see Anamul Bijoy Haque to bat at 1 or 2 than Ashraful.
