Two attacking knocks, by Shakib Al Hasan and Tillakaratne Dilshan, and a collapse - eight wickets for 37 runs - secured Dhaka Gladiators' 29-run victory over Chittagong Kings in Mirpur. The win gave the Gladiators second spot in the points table at the end of the group stages.

They suffered an early blow after being put in to bat, when opener Joshua Cobb was dismissed cheaply in the second over. However, Dilshan helped steady the innings, with a 66-run stand with Anamul Haque, who scored 23. After Dilshan departed in the 12th over for 49 off 38 balls Shakib, who ended with 59 off 29 balls, added 75 runs with Darren Stevens, dominating the partnership, and lifting the run-rate to 8.40 by the end of the innings. Ryan ten Doeschate was the most expensive bowler, conceding 45 runs in his four overs.

The Kings, however, were in the contest when Nurul Hasan and Marshall Ayub added 72 runs for the second wicket in 48 balls. But spinners Mosharraf Hossain and Dilshan brought the home side back with two quick wickets each, and the Kings couldn't recover. Six of the last seven batsmen scored in single digits, and they slipped from 92 for 1 to 129 for 9 in the penultimate over. Four bowlers took two wickets each.

The match did not hold much consequence, however, with both teams already in the final four.

I'm very impressed of this new teenage sensation fast bowler emerging from Bangladesh Taskin Ahmed! what a prospect coming out from Bangladesh. Surprised that Bangladesh are now focusing on producing pacers and its vitally important that Taskin Ahmed is looked after and managed properly. Also important for his sake that some of the pitches in Bangladesh especially where Taskin is from is fast and bouncy so it will encourage him a lot because it is hard for Bangladesh to produce pacers when their pitches are low and slow.

Taskin Ahmed is a fine find and has the potential to be a world class out and out fast bowler. In the 1970's Imran Khan started as a medium fast pace bowler like Taskin Ahmed and he developed himself to one of the finest bowlers world of cricket has ever seen.

Taskin needs to take leaf out of Imran's book.

I am impressed by Anamul Haque,Marshall Ayub,Shamsur Rahman,Shabbir Rahman and Nurul Hasan, they seem to bat well against pace bowlers and seems to create plenty of time to play their shots against pace bowling.Their shot selections seems to be good as well as their fielding capabilities.Monimul Haque needs to work on his shot selection and he will be as good as the rest of them.

Taskin Ahmed,Enamul Haque Jr. and Sohag Gazi have the great potential to be world class bowlers and i believe there are plenty more brilliant youngsters coming through.

Finally this BPL( Boring Cricket league) is towards its end. This years BPL is a flop. I doubt whether it will continue next year or not. Already players are starting to complain about the salary. May be next year, they have to call players from china, Iran ,nepal, Denmark to play the BPL.

Taskin should be taken in intensive care. he gets both pase & height. He bowls stamp to stamp, no room. Good potent.

I agree with zaeem007, Taskin is a great find, he has both height and pace, if nurtured properly by the BCB then we have a new gem in hand, don't have to keep going back to Rubel and Shafiul both of whom can't stop bowling short balls.

Why Dhaka placed second in the table? Dhaka-Sylhel won 1 each in their head-head. Doesn't NRR in all matches come next?

This article doesn't contain his name but I think Bangladesh has found someone who is from the most wanted category of Bangladesh cricket. Taskin Ahmed is the name and yes finally BPL has shown us a promising seam bowler. As we all know BD has lacking in fast bowling, I think Taskin Ahmed should be taken in the intensive care of BCB and help him to be a good fast bowler.
