Profile

Bindeshwari Goyal is a very useful cricketer in her own right. As an offspinner unafraid to attack, she has impressed on more than one occasion. Short in stature, Bindeshwari has the advantage of a good loop. She sticks to the basics and her classic action gives her that ability to turn the ball considerably. In the CricInfo Rani Jhansi Trophy that was played at Chennai earlier this year, she showcased her talent for Central Zone, picking up her wickets at an average of under 13. Although Bindeshwari has not done enough with the bat to justify the title of allrounder or utility cricketer, she has shown that she is no mug with the bat. At times she has played plucky innings batting low in the order and adding crucial runs. (Anand Vasu )
