I had been BlackCaps follower for the last 15 years aeven though they have been perform poorly for the last few years. The main worries for me is the the way selection been going for the team and the poor batting. Vettori has putting too much responsibility on his shoulder were as getting no support from his teamates in both batting and bowling. Under Steve Rixon, BlackCaps have become a team where they are able to be competetive with any teams including Australia and South Africa, where they bowling and batting although without superstar like others are often play well against both spin and pace giving oppositon plenty of runs to chase and the bowler and fielder are able to give Vettori enough support to take wickets not like recent years teams are willfully avoiding Vettori and attacks others. In this ODI squad, Stewart is a player of top order and should never be in the middle order at all, Redmond been ignored where he is a useful leg spinner also Franklin too been under use.

I am BD fan and love watching my team to win what ever team we play against. Playing against Big team and win..It's definitly a booster and path of right direction. One thing is clear that BD cannot be taken lightly ANYMORE! You cannot just bring new player to expriment against BD and expect to win!!! THOSE DAYS has long gone. One side note; We shldn't be take too much pride to our self yet...I haven't Won the series...At this point a draw would disappointing for BD. Good luck to both team.

Well done Bangars! I don't think NZ is that bad a side, it is just that 2 games in a row, the Bangars have executed all disciplines at a high standard. NZ is not full strength but any side that has McCullum, Taylor & Vettori is a competitive side. Oram is missed - but the Bangars are missing Tamim & Mortaza! Like some other comments - I look forward to a Nafees/Tamim opening combo, that would remind me of the SL openers (Jayasurya & Kaluwitharana). Kayes & Siddique are progressing well - they need to be 3 & 4. The question is where do Shakib & Mahmuullah bat in the order? I think 5 & 6 - gives space for bowlers + Rahim. They will be difficult to play @ the World Cup - I hope this form will translate to tests.

Lol... I never said that Zimbabwe or Ireland were as good as Bangladesh. I said the recent 'competitiveness' other all 3 teams bodes well for an interesting world cup (rather than one utterly dominated by the top 8 countries). However, now that that bag of worms has been opened - whilst i agree that Bangladesh are a better team than Ireland (however Ireland did beat them only 3 months ago), Zimbabwe, after being in the down for the past 5 years, are now looking to be just as strong as Bangladesh.

Well done Bangladesh excellant cricket,however I think New Zealand have got serious problems in their batting department at times they remind me of my very own West Indies team as soon as one wicket goes down they just crumble. The only man who seams to have some consistency in the batting is Ross Taylor. Jessie Ryder is also a good player but he reminds me so much of Chris Gayle in that some times he may get off to an explosive start and an then all it takes is one silly mistake and he throws his wicket away.The other guys such as Grant Elliot have got to seriouly step up their game. Daniel Vettori cannot always come in and rescue New Zealand from a precarious situation one must remember that he is a left arm spin bowling allrounder. The pace bowling is also a bit of a concern in that sometimes I don`t think it is penetrative enough. Their is no doubt that Kyle Mills and Tim Southee are two very good bowlers it`s just at times I think they lack killer instinct of a Shane Bond.

this is the same NZ that barely scraped out a draw in a test against the tigers 2 years ago. Bangladesh do have some good players who if given the chance to perform, will do the nation well. I'd like to hear from the Bangladesh bashers about how they're still poor. Let's remember, they're playing against a side that took 20 years to win their first test match.

@ youngkeepersdad I give NZ a bit more credit. Brendon McCullum is a fine batsman, so is Rder. I think it is the condition that is messing it up for them. But I also agree that they are not the strongest team around at the moment.

Great job BD. Even though it is home condition and an inexperienced NZ side, they still had to play and win it. Being unbeatable on home soil is not a mean feat either. Most big teams are. Now for the consistency.

I think its time to scrap this nz team and put in some different players...im a fan of teams like bangladesh, zimbabwe, ireland progressing but the nz team looks absolutely horrible atm by far the worst team in well....a long time...team needs to get rid of stewart, elliot and nathan mccullem even though he bowled well he adds nothing with the bat...mckay and southee are average atm as wel....we need oram and styris back and we need to include williamson and franklin...we need to go back to the old formula of playing all rounders because players like stewart literally add nothing...we need that wagner guy as wel desperately...hopefully he is available soon...1.McCullem 2.Rhyder 3.Taylor 4.Williamson 5.Styris 6.Franklin 7.Oram 8.Vettori 9.Mills 10.Tufey/Mckay/Southee 11.Wagner...This is the only way i see us getting out of this whole rock bottom thing..i still cant beleive they arent playing williamson...wtf man who are you waiting for South Africa, Australia? My nationality is Bangladeshi. We making progress ODI and 20/20 cricket. we have some good brilliant cricket in our country. SAKIB,TAMIM,NAFIS,MASRAFEE and ASRAFUL. Our main players need to opportunity to play county cricket Like ENG,AUS,NZ. Please all supporter in world wide don't call BD is a "small team". Now we are playing good cricket.

Well done Bangladesh and You are now on the track. I was waiting for this for years (Of course you are taking more time). Don't undermine these wins due to Kiwis team selection. NZ is one of the best teams in the world and Bangladesh won them period!!!. The bottom line is Bangladesh on the right track.

NZ doesn't need to worry about lot coz they are actually playing with a competitive team (But your players are loosing the rhythm by playing baseball == T20).

NZ is clearly missing the batting of Jacob Oram and Scott Styrus big time. Im not sure why they are not including the all-rounder Williamson. A great player of spin and a decent spin bowler. Elliot's a good player but theres no point in having another medium pacer/batter. Well played BD, No backbone NZ!! Pick it up!

I may be Australian bu I look forward to the day when Bangladesh is number one in the world, Tamin is number 1 batsman and Shakib is number 1 allrounder. The Kiwis, on the other hand, - I heard a Kiwi's comment on air that it was the worst team they'd put out - in ODIs yes, it probably is. Please get some quality back. NZ have one batsman and one bowler and often they both answer to the same name - Dan. Still, it doesn't take anything away from the Bangys. Well done.

A very well deserved win by Bangladesh..people might say that weather was with Bangladesh in the 1st ODI. But this win was really solid by the Tigerzz.. Very well bowled by the spinners, specially Shuvo's figure was splendid.. But people are over looking the new consistent performer of Bangladesh after Shakib that is Shahriar Nafees. Once again he batted truly well. Imrul is making runs but the strike rate of him is poor while Shahriar Nafees can be the best partner for Tameem while he is back on side..

Finally, best of luck to the tigers..hope they win the series against the black caps for the first time..

Congratulations to Bangladesh they played really well!! Siddons is obviously making progress with the ODI team and they will be a handful for any team in their own conditions at next year's world cup - good luck to them!!

As a Black Caps supporter, that performance was very disappointing. Similarly to the India OID tri-series recently, our batsmen seem completely unable to adjust to the conditions in the sub-continent!! Ryder looked promising but immaturity got the better of him and he held out in the deep just when he needed to consolidate. Taylor is in great form and even if someone could have just stayed in and blocked at the other end we might have had a decent total!! I can't say I'm a fan of Stewart or Walting in the ODI side. Although on the positive side the bowling of Nathan McCullum is encouraging. Come on Black Caps put together a better batting display in the remaining games!!

Well, another well deserved victory for Bangladesh. Congratulations to the team & especially to Suhrawardy Shuvo who bowled an amazing 10-2-14-3, & to Razzak & Shakib as well. This trio completely dismantled the NZ batting line up & if not for Ross Taylor's unbeaten 62 they could have been all out way under 150. Nafees, thnx for that entertaining knock of 73 & a brilliant 50 from Imrul Kayes though it was somewhat disappointing to watch them both depart before the job is done. I am seriously interested to see Tamim & Nafees Open for Bangladesh while Junaid at No. 3 & Kayes being at No. 4 where he can play his typical role to support both Junaid & Shakib, who should forever be at number 5 to take the responsibility to exhilarate the inning into a higher total or mend the inning in case the bad turns out with the help of Mahmudullah and Naeem/Shuvo at No. 6 and 7. Let's hope for Mashrafe & Shafiul & Rubel & Nazmul to be at their best whenever needed alongside Razzak. But it's just me ...

My response is mostly to "Tuman Mustofa Rizwan" .. I don't know man... u are one of those typical fan who thinks by winning two matches makes you number one and start to feel disrespectful when comparing to the team right under your rank. Come onnn... on a bad day... any team can have their a** kicked by any other team... and thats cricket. Under good pressure the BD line up is still fragile... and thats true for any other team as well. The nerve factor still works on BD team. So please do not make such comments like comparing BD team to Zim is disrespectful. Imagine on a fast and pacey pitch... where the spinners are't as effective... how we gonna survive? Batting will not do it all by itself. We are not strong in all departments yet. I am just glad to see BD in such standard where they can make the opponent seriously worried. It's gonna be a delightful WC for us. It's time to show the big boys that "we don't need a perfect day to beat the hake out of ya!"

Please don't draw Bangladesh into the same league as Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe hardly has any world-class player and are only able to beat 2nd string Ind and Sri Lanka sides!

Bangladesh moves up to 60 rating points in the ICC ODI rankings table with this win, edging close to the WI with 67. If they manage another win in this series and accomplish a 5-0 clean sweep against Zim, then they may replace the WI as the no. 8 ranked side!

If Nafees can continue scoring runs in this series, I will be very interested to see him open with Tamim in the series against Zim. Kayes is way too slow and he does not have too many shots in his arsenal yet to confidently get Bangladesh starts or play sidekick to Tamim. Nafees and Tamim will be an explosive left hand opening pair.

@zhKhan .. I don't think anyone would claim that. This is a full strength NZ outfit. I was very exciting to watch Nafees back in the team and scoring runs. The prospect of Nafees n Tamim going at the opposition is a very very exciting one.

@andrew.henshaw.. the difference between Bangladesh and Ireland is as big as the difference between india(1) and zimbabewe(10). So, It is disrespectful to match a test team with a non test playing nation. Remember that, even zimbabwe managed to beat india in the last sereis. But, it doesn't mean that you can take the name of India and Zimbabwe in the same league. Respect others and earn respect for yourself.

awesome performance! Stayed up all night to watch this game. One thing though is that New Zealand's batting problems are pretty evident just from the very fact that an "occasional allrounder" like Vettori is batting at No. 6 which is traditionally reserved for a specialist batsman. No matter how much one may praise Vettori's batting the truth is he has played over 250 matches and scored less than 2000 runs at an avg of around 17 with highest of 83. A specialized batsman at no.6 should have far better stats. Vettori can be the 7th batsman but NZ needs to find 6 solid batsman before the world cup.

I hope Bangladesh continues to exploit this lack of batting prowess in the NZ team and it seems like our spinners have really figured out how to undo this team's batting efforts.... Go Bangladesh!

Players like Tamim, Kayes, Shakib, Rahim, Mortaza, Nafees etc. will make life miserable for the opposition in WC 2011. Good to see Bangladesh progressing. Keep it up !

Please don't undermine the victory of Bangladesh by saying that this is not the main New Zealand team. Even this is not the full strength Bangladesh team. There is no Tamim, no Ashraful (don't want even) no Masharafee as well. I think BCB should right way declare Sakib as the full captain of Bangladesh team and Tamim as his deputy. If Mashrafee returns then he will play as a regular player.
