Fall of wickets: 1-8 (Virender Sehwag, 1.1 ov), 2-59 (Gautam Gambhir, 19.5 ov), 3-60 (Sachin Tendulkar, 22.1 ov), 4-75 (Rahul Dravid, 26.2 ov), 5-92 (Suresh Raina, 33.1 ov), 6-100 (VVS Laxman, 34.4 ov), 7-111 (Amit Mishra, 39.3 ov), 8-195 (Praveen Kumar, 53.3 ov), 9-224 (MS Dhoni, 61.2 ov), 10-224 (Ishant Sharma, 62.2 ov)

33.1 to SK Raina, Plays all around this one! He has missed a straight half-volley! Anderson has been taking the ball away from Raina, who sees a juicy full around off and goes for a big drive. This, though, comes in with the angle, and takes the middle stump out. Raina hopelessly outside the line. 92/5
62.2 to I Sharma, wow, that's a ridiculous catch from Cook! Nobody can believe it. He's at silly point and Ishant drove straight at him, somehow the ball lodged in his arm-pit and he ended up hugging the ball to take the catch. 224/10
1765343.11839100
1.1 to V Sehwag, there's an appeal first ball! Broad slammed one down short of length and Sehwag leaned back, dropping his hands as the ball passed him ... or did it? It nipped back sharply off the seam, and may well have touched the glove. Prior went up straight away, as did the slip cordon. Strauss immediately asks for a review, he seems very sure. Yes, that's touched the glove! He's gone first ball! What a start for England. 8/1
22.1 to SR Tendulkar, Tendulkar is out! Full, swinging away, Tendulkar pokes and edges straight to Anderson at third slip. That's taken the intensity up a notch! And not only on the field, there's all sorts of lively statements flying around the Cricinfo office right now. Sambit may be feeling a little outnumbered just at the minute ... That is quite a wicket for England, and a second significant scalp for the in-form Broad.. 60/3
39.3 to A Mishra, another straight half-volley gets a wicket... this is another teasing full ball just outside off, Mishra drives tamely, inside the line as it turns out. The ball does nothing, goes straight, and takes the edge. 111/7
61.2 to MS Dhoni, gone now! Pitched-up delivery that Dhoni tried to hack to the cover boundary, in a way he was unlucky because the edge found the one slip in Strauss, who took a decent catch. That said, given the field was deep was there a need to go so hard at it? Anyway, it has been an excellent counter-attacking innings that has lifted his team's mood and total up towards respectability. 224/9
2046243.109510100
19.5 to G Gambhir, gone! Bowled him! Bresnan has been probing away on that off stump line, this one swung sharply back in as Gambhir stepped forward to drive, nipping in between bat and pad to clatter into the stumps. What a waste, Gambhir had struggled through the new ball and really looked set, but that was a loose drive and he's paid the price. A thick inside edge meant the ball cannoned into the stumps, and he's got to go.. 59/2
26.2 to R Dravid, that's a nut! Dravid is undone by a cracking delivery from Bresnan, it landed on a perfect length and straightened off the pitch, zipping past the outside edge of his hopeful defence and making a mess of the stumps. It was already England's session, but this wicket has really tipped things in their favour. Bresnan has been as dependable as ever, and he's also got two wickets for good measure. India are in a deep hole now. 75/4
34.4 to VVS Laxman, Laxman out pulling for the third time in three Tests! He is a positive batsman, though, and has got a few runs with that shot too. This time, though, perhaps the ball wasn't short enough, and he got a top edge to long leg. England absolutely kicked with this wicket. Bresnan gets three. 100/6
53.3 to P Kumar, Review time. And Strauss has made a second excellent review today. Kumar makes a belated decision to hook this one, gets a faint faint edge that the umpire doesn't pick. Prior is convinced, and Strauss makes the time-out signal. Rightly, the decision is overturned. Kumar has played an important hand, though. 195/8

70.2 to IR Bell, India have a legal wicket today. And what a ball too. PK produces a mind-blowing legcutter that straightens from off, past Bell's straight-bat defence and knocks off stump out of the ground. Harsha Bhogle says "off stump is cartwheeling all by itself around deep square leg". And he's not exaggerating. Bell looks spooked, that was one magic ball. And no, if you were wondering, Dhoni is unlikely to reverse the dismissal. Dravid will say a silent prayer of relief.. 252/2
92.6 to KP Pietersen, finally, Praveen wins the battle! Pietersen had been walking across his stumps all innings, and he's finally missed one that was heading towards the stumps. Praveen bends his knees as he rends the skies of Birmingham with an appeal, and Umpire Davis agrees. Praveen's 15th wicket of the series, I might point out. 374/3

188.1 to AN Cook, What have you done, Alastair? This is bowled wide of off, he goes after it, but it is too far away, and ends up hitting in the air, Raina runs in from deep point and takes a smart catch. As Gavaskar says, he even picked India's best fielder! Sharma gives him an immediate pat on the back. Dravid shakes his hand. Raina chases him to congratulate him. Strauss calls them off. India have two days and a bit to bat. 710/7

55.6 to AJ Strauss, the wicket has arrived. India look on in disbelief and then relief. Mishra actually appeals, even though the batsman is bowled. That's how unlikely a wicket has looked in these circumstances. For the second time in the series, Strauss misses a sweep and is castled by a spinner. Harbhajan had him lbw at Lord's. Here Mishra spins one in, onto the pads and onto the stumps as Strauss exposes leg stump when he's sweeping. Oh wait. Did Mishra overstep? The umpire didn't call it. They are showing us some no-ball on TV from side-on. Ah, well, confirmed. That was a no-ball. Strauss can be considered unlucky. Too late even for Dhoni to reverse the decision now.. 186/1
163.4 to RS Bopara, poor poor Bopara. You can be an India fan. You can be an England fan. But you have to feel for him. He's failed here in a situation where he really could not have succeeded. Mishra clearly prefers bowling at right handers, he gets this fizzing legbreak to straighten from the middle and off line, and it beats Bopara's forward prod to hit him in front. That's the end of that.. 605/5
165.6 to MJ Prior, Tendulkar runs in from deep backward square leg to take a nice tumbling catch. Prior falls. This was tossed up on middle and leg, Prior went for the slog sweep and top-edged the swirler up in the air. Tendulkar charged in, tumbled forward and held it a foot and a half above the turf. Well caught, and some respite for India ... No wait, Bresnan is next in. And then Broad.. 613/6

160.5 to EJG Morgan, India's best spinner on this tour has struck. Sehwag takes the catch at cover. India finally have a wicket today. Flighted on off stump, Morgan goes for the inside out over-the-top cover drive but doesn't get the elevation. Sehwag was in the way. And he held it. Really. An Indian fielder took a catch. I am not kidding.. 596/4

0.2 to V Sehwag, and what does he do? Achieves it, of course. Short of a length, swinging away after pitching outside off, no feet from Sehwag but he drives at it! Edged and taken at first slip. Sums up India's tour... oh well, many other things have done that before this. 3/1
13.1 to G Gambhir, And strikes first ball! Top bowling from Anderson and England. Last night, Gambhir left alone quite a few deliveries outside off. Today Anderson starts with one pitched around middle and leg, back of a length, moving away. Gambhir plays at it tamely, almost guiding it to second slip. 35/2
15.2 to R Dravid, Anderson is near unplayable this morning! Again this angles in towards off, then leaves Dravid after having made him play at it. The edge is taken, and England are ever so closer to the No. 1 ranking. These outswingers bowled from wide of the crease at Anderson's pace are always going to trouble the batsmen no matter how good they are. Interesting replays. Nothing on the HotSpot. But Dravid didn't review it, which means he must have thought he hit it. Good on him that he didn't go for the review, just in case. Even the Snicko shows no edge. Dravid seemed to have asked Tendulkar something on the way back. So was Dravid not sure either way?. 40/3
21.3 to VVS Laxman, Anderson gets four out of four! A perfect ten anybody, to make this test even more special for England? Another lovely outswinger, just short of driving length, just outside off, Laxman leaves the bat to dry, the ball moves away, takes the edge. Prior does the rest. 56/4
1242822.33615020
48.2 to P Kumar, gone now! There will be no record for Praveen, consider him enforced. Short ball that Praveen backed away to hack at, got a big top edge and Bopara gets to contribute with a catch running round from mid-off. 205/8
50.4 to I Sharma, gone now! Full and fast, Ishant shuffled across but it probably struck outside off stump. Unlucky for Ishant. Bit of a tailender decision that, if only there was a DRS, needless to say. Hardly a gamechanger though, and England stand one wicket away from 3-0. 221/9
10.331911.80543000
55.3 to S Sreesanth, that's it! Bresnan finishes it. 3-0 England, and for the first time since 1980 England are the world's No. 1 team! Length ball kicked up onto the shoulder of the bat, it flew to Pietersen at gully to spark wild celebrations. England get into that huddle we've seen at the end of their last three brilliant wins and they have absolutely nailed India here. 244/10
1318826.764511310
28.6 to SK Raina, there's the arm ball, and he is given! Raina tried to review it, but he should remember it was India who insisted against the reviews even on inside edges on lbws. Anyway, this was pad first. Swann bowls the slider, Raina plays for the offbreak, the bal goes with the angle, beats the inside edge, hits him in front of middle. Steve Davis doesn't hesitate. Anderson won't get 10. 87/5
40.5 to A Mishra, quality catch from Broad at mid-on! England edging nearer now! Mishra shuffled down the wicket and aimed a lofted drive but didn't really get enough of it, Broad scooted round to his left and dived well with his outstretched, long arms and clasped the take. 130/7
