Mohsin Khan will continue as interim coach of Pakistan for the series against Bangladesh, which starts later this month. The PCB said the decision to retain Mohsin was taken as a full-time coach had not yet been identified.

Mohsin was initially put in charge of the team in early October, ahead of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, after Waqar Younis stepped down from the post citing health reasons. Pakistan won the Test series 1-0 in the UAE, and started the limited-overs leg of the contest on Friday.

The PCB had formed a committee in late August to find Waqar' successor and though it arrived at a shortlist of five candidates a month later, no full-time coach has yet been appointed. The committee was constituted by the previous PCB chairman Ijaz Butt but the process was delayed as Butt completed his three-year tenure and was replaced by Zaka Ashraf last month.

Apart from the head coach, the PCB has also advertised for three other coaching roles - national batting, bowling and fielding coach. The closing date for receiving applications was set as November 18.

Pakistan play two Tests, three ODIs and a Twenty20 against Bangladesh in a series that begins on November 29.

Mohsin has always seemed like one of the few non-corrupt people left in Pakistan cricket. He should definitely continue. Hope the rest of the players will come to their senses. Good luck to him.

I don't know why people want Mohsin to be coach! He doesn't even know what he's doing, just after every fifty & century by player he just raises his finger to tell them to stay there! I have nothing against him personally but we need coach who plans the future, like Gary Kirsten & Andy Flower! A foreign coach is the only option, & he should be a batsmen too! I've heard Dean Jones is short listed; he could be great! But we also have to keep him for long term, like till 2015!! Good Luck for the Future of Pakistan cricket team!!

He needs to be kicked out of being a selector along with Ilyas.

He only gives older guys a chance but never the next Miandad or Wasim a chance.

How are you going to build for the future if you keep giving 31 yr old's a chance?

Younis played well yesterday but I think it's time we look for someone younger like Alam or Yasin and no more Misbah either for the shorter formats with Afridi as the captain for both ODI's and T20's.

I think there should be separate batting, bowling and fielding coaches who can be under one head coach. Further more, Hafeez should be made Captain in all formats of the game as well, he is already known as the "professor" and has a good attacking cricketing brain as well.

Mohsin should continue as permanent coach. I feel he is aggressive and wold show team path of wining rather draw habbit. Frankly speaking, I suggest that AFRIDI should accept captaincy for all format of Cricket. Because the rotten eggs have been kicked off and now no one will try to let him down.

Team is not performing because of Mohsin. Team is performing because of players. Coach is not just an admin coach need to be able to coach when time comes which Mohsin lacks. He is more of a celebrity and like to come around give press releases as well as show up on camera regularly .. greeting players congratulating them ... this is all PR things. If the Pakistan youngster needs to be groomed they should have independent batting, bowling and mandatory fielding coaches with a figure head to mange those coaches. I don't care if that figure head is Mohsin but his job more or less should be managing coaches not mentoring players because he can not.

I think mohsin should be the permanent coach for at least the 2015 world cup because he know perfectly the pak team and doing a very good job and he supports really well the team i've seen good expression on his face when the players are playing please make him the permanent coach

Some Good Decision by the PCB . Technically he is working good he had plenty of mess with Ijaz Butt but seems to be good in working.
