Sri Lanka in Bangladesh ODI Series - 2nd ODI

Bangladesh v Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka won by 61 runs

12.55 pm The Bangladesh players have had their talk in the huddle and are spreading out on the field. Kusal Perera takes his guard, outside his crease, and gets ready for the first ball. It will be the returning Mashrafe Mortaza to kick things off. Slip and gully are the only catchers

Rabbul: "The way its going for the BD cricket for the last few days as lost in 2 T20 in last ball, massive hiccup on 1st ODI, Cant get through Quarter final by U19 team, am quit sure Luck willnt favour for BD on this game also, But who knows Toss will bring the luck? "

12.50 pm There's a little bit of breeze blowing through the ground as well. The pitch looks pretty good. Expected to be a batting track. There is a bit of moisture and the ball will do something in the first 30-40 minutes, but it will get better as the game progresses. So if the batsmen are sensible this could be a high-scorer

"Would have wanted to bowl first, with dew expected later," says Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim. We haven't played our best cricket and still we almost won the last three games. This is a do-or-die game for us and we had a great chat and the boys are up for it and we'll hope to put up a good show

"The wicket will not change a lot," says SL captain Angelo Mathews. It will probably stay the same as the game goes, but scoreboard runs will always put them under pressure. The last three games were terrific. Hopefully this game will also be as exciting. It was one of those odd days for the batters and we're sure they will bounce back hard today"

shahed: "BD is playing with 6 bowlers (Mash, Rubel, Shakib, Gazi, Sunny, Mahmudullah). They could go with Naeem instead of Gazi or sunny since batsmen did bad in the last ODI and Nasir, Mominul could have been used if any bowler does bad. "

AmilaKasunRajap: "Send inform Perera up in the order and give him the freedom to go berserk. He might score a quick fire ton. We can keep sending him at the top if he clicks 5 out of 10 times we'll be able to grab both the Asia cup and and the T20 world cup with ease."

12.40 pm Sri Lanka have won the toss and have elected to bat . Both teams have one change each. Sri Lanka have gone for Ajantha Mendis, while Bangladesh bring back Mashrafe Mortaza so Al-Amin Hossain sits out

Daniel Alexander: "Kulasekara will be missed, hope the in-form Lakmal will be picked" Horrid time to get, injured isn't it?

lekhnath: "How is the weather condition now?" It's a sunny 27 degrees celsius. Looks like we won't be having to suffer a shortened game today.

12.25 pm As ever, there's tons of support for the home side. But the team themselves will know there are some very real concerns. Our Bangladesh correspondent Mohammad Isam ponders over them.

"Bangladesh need to bat better if they want to win this match. This is important match for Bangladesh if they loose they will loose the series," Zeesham Khalid does his best to state the obvious

Yaai: "I wish all the best to Bangladesh tigers, and hope that they come out of the ground as a winner, because last few series they have played were not up to the mark"

Senaka Wijesing: "Hope Sri Lanka has learnt the lesson of been so complacent against a team who is very good in their own den. They need to play to their full potential if they are to win this match. Nothing is easy when you are in Tiger's den."

12.15 pm The toss will be coming at you in a little while. But I know how annoying waiting can be, so why don't you tuck into the preview of this game, just so you aren't caught too badly off guard

"Any update on Mushrafe and Tamim? Anyone of the two has recovered yet?" asks a concerned Manik. As of now, the only news is that the Bangladesh management are playing their cards very close to their chest. We will let you know of any developments as soon as we get them

vishvajith: "Hope this will be a great game like the last. Bangladesh spectators deserve more, but SL is still the dominant side..."

12.00 pm So, here we are again. This time with the series on the line. Sri Lanka have already pocketed the Test and T20 series and would be very keen to wrap up the tour without yielding any quarter. Bangladesh, of course, cannot be counted out on their home soil and their batting received a serious jolt in the first ODI. They would have sat down and done some serious soul searching. Will we see improvements today? We'll find out soon enough

0.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to MDKJ Perera, no run, solidly behind the back of a length ball on off stump

0.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to MDKJ Perera, FOUR, sweet timing! The bowler errs by offering some width and Perera was set up on the back foot and punches through point. Opened the face on impact and pierced the gap perfectly

0.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to MDKJ Perera, FOUR, jabs it through point again! Mashrafe doesn't learn as he offers up a short ball outside off. Kusal is on the back foot again, a little deeper, and cuts away

0.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to MDKJ Perera, no run, shortish, but this time he tucks him up on middle and leg. Kusal is on his toes and blocks

0.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to MDKJ Perera, no run, fuller and slides this across the left-hander, Kusal is circumspect and leaves this time

0.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to MDKJ Perera, no run, nice and full on middle and off, Kusal is wary as he presents a straight bat

Noor: "I do not find any reason why Naeem Islam is not included in top XI, in spite of his 84, 16 and 63 against NewZealand in the last series Bangladesh played. In fact, he was the highest run scorer in BD side. Specially Mahmudullah & Gazi with such a poor form could be rested instead of Naeem. What is the measure of choosing best XI? Don't you people agree with me?"

Rubel Hossain from the other end

1.1

Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, no run, fullish and angled in on off stump, Dilshan drives into the off side

1.2

Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, no run, opens the face a little more as he tries to pierce the gap in the covers. Not enough timing

1.3

Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, no run, back of a length on and around off stump, gets on the back foot and blocks under his eyes

1.4

Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, 1 run, he's thrown the stumps down at the non-strikers' but Dilshan has judged this single very well. Dabbed the length ball into the midwicket region with soft hands and raced off

1.5

Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, OUT, cut straight into the hands of point! Might have been a bit more bounce there than he expected. Still slams it away and Shamsur has held on to a pretty sharp catch! It was short and wide, probably one of the worse balls he would bowl to get a wicket but Rubel doesn't mind. Neither does Bangladesh as they rejoice after the early success

Kumar Sangakkara is in at No. 3

1.6

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, good length ball, pushed across his off stump. Sanga lets it go

Hasan: "@Noor In NZ series, Naeem bated in number 3. So if you pick him he must be bated in 3-4 or 5 no more down then that. You can't send a specialist batsman in number 7 or 8. Now Mominul, Shakib and Mush -who will dropped for Naeem"

2.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, no run, good length ball, kept in the corridor outside off. Not bothered with

2.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, no run, just a hint more bounce than normal and Dilshan has been hit on his right thumb. Reared up at him while he was looking to clip into square leg, but this pitch still has enough moisture to make the ball misbehave. The physio is out there as Dilshan is wringing his hand. He's in quite some pain here

2.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, 1 run, back of a length and slides one down the pads, Dilshan seems to have recovered well enough as he clips to long leg

2.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 3 runs, gorgeous timing from Sanga. Takes advantage of a length ball on the pads with a lovely flick of the wrists. Sends the ball scurrying away through square leg

2.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, no run, terrific fielding from Gazi. This has much room as Dilshan could possibly want and he strode forward and drills it into the covers. Gazi dives full length to his left and saves at least three runs

2.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, FOUR, miss your mark once, you can get away. Do it twice in a row and Dilshan will say thank you very much. Short and wide, he was on the front foot and flayed it through point. Didn't bother keeping it down as he found the gap to perfection

End of over 3 (8 runs) Sri Lanka 17/1 (RR: 5.66)

3.1

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, good length ball on off stump, Sanga blocks it off the front foot

3.2

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, change of pace from Rubel, almost deceived the batsman but Sanga waits on the front foot and pushes to mid-off

3.3

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, fuller and outside off, Sanga covers off stump and shoulders arms

3.4

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, take that! A pull shot is usually associated with more power than that, but Sanga just taps this away after getting on top of the bounce. Swiveled on the back foot and pulls it down through midwicket and the timing is amazing

3.5

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, 2 runs, back of a length and tucking him up, Sanga clips into the leg side and hustles through for a couple

3.6

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, fuller and pushed across outside off, Sanga watches it go through to the keeper

K.N.: "Oh....KP ...you need some patience and learn from last mistakes. Cannot hit every ball. "

mahbub: "whatever good or bad BD play,You Have to hold your breath until last ball"

4.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, no run, definite signs of extra bounce off this pitch. This was on the off stump corridor and had Dilshan pressing forward. But it hits a length and leaps off the deck. The batsman did well to drop his wrists and let it sail across his nose as he swayed inside the line

4.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, 1 run, nudged into the midwicket region as this is on middle

4.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, no run, shuffles across his stumps to defends down the pitch

No slips, I wonder how wise that is with the bounce available early

4.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, no run, fullish on off stump, Sanga moved right across as he exposes leg stump and blocks

4.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 1 run, half-volley on off stump, Sanga doesn't do much more than push it down the ground and pick up a single to the left of mid-off

Dilshan has a slip though

4.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, no run, length ball draws him forward and Dilshan drives on the up. Short cover runs to his right and gets to it

End of over 5 (2 runs) Sri Lanka 25/1 (RR: 5.00)

5.1

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, good length ball on off stump which Sanga punches to point off the back foot

5.2

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, clipped away behind square leg as this is shortish and on leg stump

5.3

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, fuller and pitched wide of off stump, Sanga leans forward and drives to mid-off. Doesn't time it as well as he usually does

5.4

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, back of a length and just outside off, Sanga's shuffle gets him in line and blocks

5.5

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, driven past mid-off. This time he adds a bit more power into his overpitched delivery and mid-off's dive is not good enough

5.6

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, length ball on off, strides forward and blocks. More of an inside edge though

Hasan Raihan: "@Hasan, Naeem should bat at 4, then Shakib, Mushi. And Mahmudullah should be dropped. Now days he is nothing to the team. Another mistake was left Alamim, he is way better than Mashrafi now."

End of over 6 (4 runs) Sri Lanka 29/1 (RR: 4.83)

Reza: "I don't know how ppl put our losses to bad luck. Simply put... we batted without heads on our shoulders, fielded with butter on our fingers and captained without a strategy to take advantage of the situation."

6.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, no run, ducks back in off the pitch and this seems to have got a bit more bounce again. The movement beats the flick and Dilshan gets hit on the thigh

6.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, 1 run, fuller on off stump, Dilshan was forward and nudges wide of mid-on and takes off. Just about makes it before Mushi's throw

6.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, no run, fullish and just outside off, Sanga is forward and blocks

6.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 1 run, full and on the pads, neatly clipped through midwicket

6.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Dilshan, 1 leg bye, darts back in again, seems to be the off cutter and it gripped the pitch nicely too. Beats Dilshan's flick again as the ball runs away off the thigh pad

6.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 1 run, on the pads to Sanga this time, who has no trouble working this away through square leg

End of over 7 (4 runs) Sri Lanka 33/1 (RR: 4.71)
KC Sangakkara    16* (20b 2x4)      Mashrafe Mortaza    4-0-21-0

7.1

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, back of a length around the off stump, stays back in his crease and blocks

7.2

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, threads this through the covers. He is classy when he plays that cover drive of his. Took it on the up just a little bit, but his front foot had gone towards he line of the ball and his hands came through the line quite nicely. Lovely timing and placement from Sanga

7.3

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, 1 run, back of a length and on the pads, possibly to correct himself, but Sanga works it through square leg this time

7.4

Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, OUT, goes for a pull and he gets a leading edge to mid-off. Rubel roars! It was not short enough to pull, especially when he was on the front foot. He didn't have enough room to free his hands either. Another failure for Dilshan as he dies by the sword. I wonder how much that blow to his thumb contributed to his dismissal.

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 1 run, shuffles across as he waits for this slower ball and guides it to third man

8.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Chandimal, no run, full and angled in, Chandimal looks reasonably compact as he pushes to mid-on

8.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Chandimal, 3 runs, uses the angle to better profit this time. Mashrafe's been on the pads a little too much this afternoon, and the batsman whips it away behind square leg

8.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, no run, back of a good length, Sanga is forward and he blocks

8.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, FOUR, thumped away behind point and Sanga has another crisp boundary to his name. Takes advantage of a bit of room outside off as he cuts well behind point. Third man is too fine to stop that

10.2

Sohag Gazi to Sangakkara, no run, tossed up quite nicely on off stump and Sanga defends off the front foot

10.5

Sohag Gazi to Chandimal, no run, length ball outside off, Chandimal moves across and punches to midwicket

Deep backward square leg is in place now

10.6

Sohag Gazi to Chandimal, no run, tossess it up to draw him forward and Chandimal nudges to midwicket. Was playing a little too early as the ball goes uppishly, but falls well short

Abdullah: "There's been a lot of 3's as I am seeing. Are they running really fast for that extra run or something...?" Yes, they're consciously looking for those extra runs. And Bangladesh helped with a few misfields

11.5

Here's Arafat Sunny

Sajjad: "@ Lathika: That sort of variable is some how associated with all cricket teams, in our case we also have one question, why Kamran Akmal"

40.1

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, 1 run, tossed up but Mathews is happy to go deep in his crease and whip it strongly to deep midwicket

40.2

Arafat Sunny to Sangakkara, 1 run, around to the left-hander, flighted on middle as he nudges to square leg and sets off. It just seems too easy for him

40.3

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, no run, charges at him and swings off his hips, but Sunny has pulled the length back. And with Mathews unable to reach the pitch of this, inside edges it onto his pads

40.4

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, FOUR, nailed that one. It was dropped short and on leg stump. Mathews moved across and offered a clear view of his leg stump, but he manages great connection with the lap sweep

Sohag Gazi to Sangakkara, 1 run, struck to the sweeper on the off side as this is bowled on a length

41.4

Sohag Gazi to Mathews, SIX, clears the ropes at deep midwicket after having raced down the track. He wasn't quite to the pitch but it was turning into his arc and though he was slogging, he was always hitting with the spin.

41.5

Sohag Gazi to Mathews, 2 runs, goes for the slog sweep, but doesn't connect properly. Gets an inside edge towards short fine leg

41.6

Sohag Gazi to Mathews, no run, advances down the track, but he almost yorks himself. Drills the flighted ball outside off to midwicket

Sanga on 96 and here's Rubel

42.1

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, 2 runs, oh dear! He wanted the second and he might be struggling here. Nope, it that had been direct he would have been gone. This was short and wide and allowed the batsman to rock back and cuts into the deep. The third umpire first presses the wrong button and then signals "Not out" soon enough. The Dhaka crowd was beside themselves. They thought they had sneaked one!

42.2

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, holds his pose as he pounds this through extra and touches gloves with his captain to celebrate his century. He went past a 1000 runs against Bangladesh in the course of this innings and he caps it off by moving to three figures. Full and wide outside off, flayed away

42.3

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, touch too short and Sanga had made just a bit of room to dab it past the short third man fielder. Wonderfully placed boundary from Sanga. Took it from just outside off too

42.4

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, no run, low full toss outside off and Sanga opens the blade but can't beat point

42.5

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, 1 run, too full and too straight that time, Sanga whips him through to deep square leg

Mashrafe returns

43.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Mathews, 1 run, starts off with a slower ball, which has a bit of width. Mathews' timing is not there as he was trying to muscle the ball away. Plus I dont think he picked the change in pace. Nasir Hossain misfields at cover

43.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 1 run, slower ball yorker on middle and off, Sanga opened up his stance and slices this in front of point and he scurries through for a single. Brought his bat down perfectly in time to meet the slower ball

43.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Mathews, FOUR, he's found the gap between deep midwicket and long-on! This one moves in at him as he came down the track, but the swing only helps Mathews placing the ball and his inherent power does the rest

43.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Mathews, 1 run, pushes down to long-on to raise a very quick fifty partnership

43.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, 2 runs, it's Sanga's turn to slog to deep midwicket. Length ball draws him down the track and he swings away. Finds the fielder though

43.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sangakkara, FOUR, inside out and over wide long-off, one bounce four! What an imperious strike! It was full and on the stumps, Sanga makes some room for himself and gets under the ball and lofts it on its way. Sri Lanka are timing their charge so very well

Shakib has returned, trying to curtain the scoring rate

44.1

Shakib Al Hasan to Mathews, FOUR, has to sit back and watch a terrific stroke from the SL captain. Fires it in full and on leg stump, Mathews moves outside leg and powers it through the covers

44.2

Shakib Al Hasan to Mathews, FOUR, darts it in on middle and leg, Mathews jumps down the track and pounds it past the bowler.

44.3

Shakib Al Hasan to Mathews, 1 run, length ball angled in on and around leg stump, Mathews was moving away from his stumps and cuts to short third man. Looks up to see if Sanga can run and they pick up another quick single

44.4

Shakib Al Hasan to Sangakkara, no run, almost a yorker on off stump, drilled back to the bowler

44.5

Shakib Al Hasan to Sangakkara, FOUR, shortish and just outside off stump, goes back and flays it through extra cover. The fielder pulls out a desperate dive but this was placed and timed too well

44.6

Shakib Al Hasan to Sangakkara, 1 run, pushes down to long-off as he went back in his crease to the length ball on the stumps

End of over 45 (14 runs) Sri Lanka 247/4 (RR: 5.48)

Mushi's swapping his bowlers around in panic. This is Rubel

Piumal De Soysa: "Since Ashan's dismissal SL scored 65 runs at an 8:2 per over.. Mathews factor.."

45.1

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, scoops it right behind the keeper. Searches for the yorker and this ends up a full toss outside off, Sanga moves outside off and was waiting for it and he shovels it in the V behind him

45.2

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, FOUR, charges him and Rubel slides the length ball wider of off stump. Sanga swings wildly and gets it off the toe and it flies to the left of the keeper

45.3

Rubel Hossain to Sangakkara, 1 run, full and wide outside off as he slices it to deep point

45.4

Rubel Hossain to Mathews, 2 runs, yorker on leg stump, Mathews manages an inside edge past short fine leg, but deep square leg is fine enough to stop it

45.5

Rubel Hossain to Mathews, no run, dropped it, it was a dolly too! Slower full toss on middle and leg, Mathews wanted to follow his batting partner and scoop it over his head, but does not time it anywhere near as good. He had picked out the only man in the area but Mahmudullah shells a very simple chance

45.6

Rubel Hossain to Mathews, 1 run, yorker-length ball on middle as he digs it out down the ground

Janitha: "Last 4 overs runs conceeded are 11,12,13 & 14. Hence, SL should score 15 in the 46th over mathematically." Just missed out

46.1

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, 1 run, tries to cramp the batsman by bowling full and on the pads, Mathews whips it to deep midwicket

46.2

Arafat Sunny to Sangakkara, OUT, Mahmudullah has made amends immediately, snares a good, tumbling catch on the long-on boundary to dismiss Sanga. It was tossed up on leg stump, made him go down on one knee and he lofted it. Think he got under it a bit too much as this got more height than distance. Mahmudullah runs to his left and had his eyes on the ball all the way into both his hands

KC Sangakkara c Mahmudullah b Arafat Sunny 128 (181m 115b 14x4 0x6) SR: 111.30

46.3

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, no run, full toss on off stump, made so by Mathews charging him. The bowler gets a hand to it and ensures its a dot

46.4

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, 1 run, tossed up on the stumps as he moves outside leg and drills an extra-cover drive. Mahmudullah has a lot of work to do and is up for it

46.5

Arafat Sunny to NLTC Perera, no run, yorker on middle, punched back to the bowler

46.6

Arafat Sunny to NLTC Perera, no run, another one right in the block hole and Thisara can only push it back to the bowler. Terrific over from Sunny, only two runs and the big wicket of Sanga

47.2

Rubel Hossain to NLTC Perera, OUT, outside edge, caught at short third man! Fuller delivery homing in on off stump and Thisara was looking for quick runs as he seeks the leg side boundary, but the ball skews away to Mahmudullah again who clings on to a simple chance. Bangladesh hitting back big time here, but is it too late?

First time he has got out in the limited-overs series

47.3

Rubel Hossain to Vithanage, no run, excellent ball from Rubel. Yorker just outside off and Vithanage can only dig it out

47.4

Rubel Hossain to Vithanage, FOUR, brilliantly placed! Useful little slice past short third man. Another wide yorker, but Vithanage jams his bat down in time to place it past the diving Mahmudullah

Deep third man goes back and mid-off comes up

47.5

Rubel Hossain to Vithanage, FOUR, full toss with ample room outside off, Vithanage makes room for himself and slaps it over mid-off. It wasn't too well timed but it was hit in the gap

Signals for a change of bat

47.6

Rubel Hossain to Vithanage, no run, yorker on off stump and he almost helicopters it back to the bowler. Loads of wristwork there as he digs it out

Sanny: "Never too late to hit back! BD chased down huge totals on good looking tracks couple of times...300+ against NZ in 2013, 290+ against India in 2012 in the Asia Cup! Today would be the best day to proof that BD batting line is not as weak as expected!"

48.2

Arafat Sunny to Vithanage, 2 runs, dropped at deep midwicket. It was a full toss on leg stump, Vithanage heaves it away. It was dying on Mominul, who should have come forward instead of focusing on just cutting the angle

48.3

Arafat Sunny to Vithanage, 1 run, drills to long-off as this is fired in full on off stump

48.4

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, 1 run, yorker on middle and leg, Mathews can only whip it down to long-on

48.5

Arafat Sunny to Vithanage, 1 leg bye, sees the batsman moving outside leg and Sunny darts it full and on the legs. Vithanage can't do anything about it as the ball wanders away towards square leg after striking his pads

48.6

Arafat Sunny to Mathews, 1 run, goes back and chops the ball in front of point. This is an excellent spell of death bowling from Sunny, this is only his third ODI too!

Rubel Hossain to Mathews, FOUR, full toss on middle and off, Mathews hacks it away wide of long-on to raise his fifty. He started the charge and is seeing it through for his team

49.2

Rubel Hossain to Mathews, FOUR, finds the same gap even though this was a slower ball on middle. Mathews had cleared his front leg and heaves it away. Picked the slower delivery and punishes it

Deep midwicket is put in place now as Mushi talks with his bowler

49.3

Rubel Hossain to Mathews, 1 run, fullish and just outside off, Mathews slogs it to long-on

49.4

49.6

Rubel Hossain to Vithanage, 1 run, length ball on the stumps, Vithanage pulls to deep midwicket for a single

4.30 pm Bangladesh can never be rid of Kumar Sangakkara, can they? They did pick up a few early wickets but Sri Lanka's No.3 put up his shop and ensured they got through the middle overs without too much casualty. But it was slow progress, only because Ashan Priyanjan struggle to cope with the spinners while at the other end Sanga was batting as if in a dream. Then the captain Angelo Mathews arrived and injected some sorely needed momentum into the innings. He and Sanga shared an 83-run stand off only 58 balls to spearhead Sri Lanka to 289. Join us for the chase in about half-an-hour

Wahid59: "Bangladesh have done one better today: as against 4 dropped catches in the first ODI, they have dropped 5!"

Baz: "With this form, Sanga can play till he is 40"

cricfreaksourav: "when can BD Bowlers will learn to bowl and get wkts in slog overs? look up lasith, how he changes his every ball, put up varieties, clinches runs...on the other hand, even the lower order hits consecutive boundaries in BD bowlers overs? just disappointing!" There was one bright spot though, Arafat Sunny managed to string a few yorkers together. Don't know why he couldn't finish his quota
