Overs 1-50  | Overs 51-100  | Overs 101-150

13.1

Rampaul to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, Nafees is away with a squeeze off the outside half of the blade through backward point.

Bangladesh 27/1   Shahriar Nafees 1* (1b)

14.1

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, no run, length ball from round the stumps around off stump, defended down the track.

14.2

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, no run, over-pitched on leg stump, Nafees punches uppishly to mid-on.

14.3

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, no run, holds the length back and lands it on a length around off stump, Nafees defends from the crease.

14.4

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, FOUR, smooth work from Nafees, Sammy concedes his first runs in 21 balls. Nice shot, not too short, not too wide, but Nafees sets himself up and gives it a wholesome carve backward of point.

14.5

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, FOUR, even better shot, all hands this time. Shorter and wider from Sammy, Nafees deals with it delicately. Waits for the ball to sit up beside him and then surgically steers it backward of point with typically subcontinental wrists.

14.6

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, no run, lets the last one go through as Sammy returns round the stumps and keeps it short of driving length.

Bangladesh 39/1   Shahriar Nafees 9* (7b 2x4)

16.1

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, angled into the pads, worked square by Nafees for a single.

16.4

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, no run, shaped into the pads, Nafees defends to the leg side.

16.5

Sammy to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, over-pitched outside off, driven solidly through wide mid-off.

Bangladesh 44/1   Shahriar Nafees 11* (10b 2x4)

17.1

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, FOUR, the loosest of looseners you will see. Fidel lands this short and it takes an eternity to come along. Nafees waits and waits, and struggles to time the cut, but ends up playing into the covers for four. Lendl Simmons can't stop if on the ropes with some nifty footwork.

17.2

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, FOUR, lovely stroke, Bangladesh have 50 as Nafees leans into another drive and picks up consecutive fours.

17.3

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run

17.4

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run, huge appeal for lbw but Nafees survives. He was caught on the crease by a length ball that straightened on middle and leg. He was playing a touch around it, but missed. Half of the ball landed on the mat, and that's normally not considered enough. The umpire was Dharmasena.

17.5

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, sprays it full and straight now, Nafees works it away square for a single.

Bangladesh 53/1   Shahriar Nafees 20* (15b 4x4)

18.4

Samuels to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, Nafees hangs back and forces a single into the covers.

Bangladesh 56/1   Shahriar Nafees 21* (16b 4x4)

19.4

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run, short ball, doesn't bounce as high as Nafees expected, and he had to quickly adjust to get some bat behind it. He thought of pulling, but ended up defending with a jerky straight bat.

19.5

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run, blood on the pitch. This doesn't look good at all. Super sharp bouncer from Fidel, angling in and homing in at the head. Nafees was on the front foot initially, but still chose to attempt a hook. He was hopelessly late on the shot, the ball was through before the bat came across, and seemed to hit the helmet between the peek and the grill. It has managed to slip in and cut him near the eye. Nafees went down in visible pain, and quickly summoned in assistance as the blood began to dribble out. He's going off now with a towel covering the bloodied nose. The good news is that the damage seems to be only superficial. Credit to Fidel for producing that kind of a ball on this wicket. Nafees is retired hurt and Raqibul walks in.

Bangladesh 58/1   Shahriar Nafees 21* (18b 4x4)

92.5

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run, and a good one at that. Short and pacy, searing through at a lively clip. Nafees politely sways out of the way. No hook shot attempted this time.

92.6

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, straighter this time, and not so short. Nafees clips it square to open his account for the day.

Bangladesh 261/5   Shahriar Nafees 22* (20b 4x4)

93.1

Rampaul to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, and an inside edge from Nafees. Loose chop away from the body as Ramps angles it across, and it runs past the stumps towards short fine.

93.3

Rampaul to Shahriar Nafees, FOUR, too short and too wide, and as he did in day one, Nafees isn't shy of going for his shots. This was short and wide, and he cracked it away crisply through point.

93.4

Rampaul to Shahriar Nafees, no run, angled across again, Nafees opens the face and steers backward of point.

93.5

Rampaul to Shahriar Nafees, 1 run, short of a length outside off, Nafees hacks from the crease into the off side.

Bangladesh 268/5   Shahriar Nafees 28* (24b 5x4)

94.1

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, 1 no ball, and a bouncer again, Fidel over-steps, though.

94.2

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, (no ball) FOUR, take that. Bouncer attempted, the ball stops and sits up like a daisy that awaits harvest. Nafees obliges with a forcing pull shot. Short leg ducks away and the ball speeds away.

94.1

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run, on a length, and cramping Nafees for room, he defends to the off side.

94.2

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, no run, angled in this time, Nafees gets the front foot across and nudges to mid-on.

94.3

FH Edwards to Shahriar Nafees, OUT, Fidel's struck again on the fourth morning. Nafees dies by the sword as he stays rooted on the crease and slashes at a slightly short, wide ball, that did not really bounce. Looked like he got an under edge that carried into Baugh's gloves.

Shahriar Nafees c †Baugh b FH Edwards 32 (40m 29b 6x4 0x6) SR: 110.34
