Dhaka Gladiators, the Bangladesh Premier League champions, have reacted strongly after the schedule of this year's Champions League T20 was announced without the two-time BPL winners. Of all the Test-playing countries, domestic Twenty20 champions from only Bangladesh and Zimbabwe have never participated in the CLT20.

They had also alleged that the BCB did not send out any requests to one of the three cricket boards that organise the tournament, but the BCB has denied this claim.

"We expected (to be included) and were waiting for a meeting with one the organisers - the BCCI - of the tournament," Shihab Chowdhury, Dhaka Gladiator's managing director, said in a statement. "We also said that things are on track but the fixtures were released before we could even make a move. We were informed that the Bangladesh Cricket Board was supposed to recommend and request the BCCI. But surprisingly this was also never done."

In reply, BPL secretary Ismail Haider Mallick has said they never got a reply from the organisers, but they will try to include the BPL champions. "They [Dhaka Gladiators] are misinformed about our stance. We have sent letters to the Champions League T20 committee but didn't get any replies from the concerned people. We will send letters to the BCCI, CA and CSA in this regard next week.

"They went to meet the ICC but I don't think the ICC has anything to do with this," Mallick told ESPNcricinfo.

"We were even told by the concerned that process is going and there was a very good chance for us to participate in the tournament this year, but no communication was made by the concerned thus we were not considered," he said.

This is unbelievable! The Gladiators should appeal and if needed, go to court.

Mashrafe Mortaza, Anamul Haque, Joshua Cobb, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Chris Gayle, Chris Liddle, Litton Das, Kaushal Lokuarachchi, Mahbubul Alam, Ajantha Mendis, Mohammad Ashraful, Mosharraf Hossain, Kieron Pollard, Raqibul Hasan, Saqlain Sajib, Owais Shah, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Darren Stevens, Alfonso Thomas, Luke Wright. Is a Great Lineup for any Dream team like BBL, IPL, SLPL and PBL. So DG is a next CLT20 if they play properly. I think Every person are scared of DG's Success. Even also CLT20 Management scared of DG.

It will be very interesting to see DG plays against other top T20 Teams. I don't see how other teams can win against DG. Gayle made apx $50K per match playing for DG, which is a lot higher than what he gets in IPL or BBL. If you go by match fee per game, then I don't know why gayle and Pollard would play for any team other then DG. Hopefully BPL champs can play this year of not at least from next year..

so funny you are cambell!!!!!!!!! just read all the names of Dhaka gladiators....Shakib, Ashraful,Mash , Cobb(not playing in ipl and bbl) , liddle(not playing for ipl and bbl) .....gayle and pollard bbl team not qualify for clt20..and if mumbai or rcb qualify they will not playing for bpl ....but Dhaka gladiators rest of the players have the capability not only fight there but also win the title

@pollard , luke wright , gayle are never going to play for BPL teams. They play for their respective ipl teams. Even if IPL teams qualify, then they will play for their BBL teams.

Best thing now to seek a court ruling in favor of including DG.

I have a doubt that any team from current ipl can even put a decent competition with Dhaka Gladiator. ...

I think Champions League T20 organisers are scared because Dhaka can beat any team.
