Glamorgan 380 (Powell 111, Syed Rasel 4-89) v Bangladesh A
Scorecard
Michael Powell combined well with Glamorgan's tail to rescue his side from an inauspicious start to their three-day tour match against Bangladesh A. By stumps on day one, Glamorgan had been bowled out for 380, with Powell top-scoring with 111. But at the midway point of their innings they had been struggling on 148 for 5, after Bangladesh's seamers, led by Syed Rasel, had made a spirited start to the match.
Shadahat Hossain got their day off to the perfect start when he trapped Daniel Cherry lbw for 4, although it was Rasel, with figures of 4 for 89, who was the star of their show. He claimed two early wickets before returning to clean up the tail, but by that stage, Glamorgan had recovered from their wobble, thanks to a 139-run stand for the sixth wicket between Powell and Alex Wharf.
Wharf made 77, and Robert Croft added an important 40 to carry the innings into the realms of respectability. But for the Bangladeshis it was another important day of hard toil, from which they emerged with some credit.
