Angelo Perera century lifts Sri Lanka U-19
Sri Lanka Under-19 271 for 9 (Angelo Perera 112, Islam 3-56) v Bangladesh Under-19
Angelo Perera, Sri Lanka Under-19's middle-order batsman, rescued his team after a top-order collapse on the first day of the second youth Test against Bangladesh Under-19 in Khulna. Sri Lanka had slumped to 183 for 7 but Perera lifted them to 271 by scoring 112 off only 157 balls.
Sri Lanka's openers, Udara Jayasundera and Dinesh Chandimal, gave their team a start by adding 55 for the first wicket but the visitors lost three quick wickets and were reduced to 74 for 3. Angelo kept scoring from one end but wickets fell frequently at the other. Taibur Rahman and Kamrul Islan cut through the middle order and put Bangaldesh on to until Angelo found a partner in Shameera Weerasinghe. The pair added 71 for the eighth wicket before Angelo was run out. Bangaldesh struck another blow before stumps to end the day one wicket away from dismissing Sri Lanka.
