Shakib Al Hasan pulls, Dhaka Gladiators v Khulna Royal Bengals, BPL, Chittagong, February 19, 2012

Shakib Al Hasan became the most expensive buy in the Bangladesh Premier League when he was acquired by Dhaka for $365,000 in one of the many tiebreakers in the day. Imran Nazir, the second most valuable player at $280,000, was bought by Chittagong in another tight bidding battle. As a result, the auction lasted nearly eight hours with its share of drama.

The start of the auction was also the business end of it, as the golden category players - both local and foreign - were fought over. With small pay brackets, the seven BPL franchises often locked up at the highest price quickly, but then had to write up their price on a piece of paper, which was then read out by the auction commissioner, the highest bidder winning the player's services.

Half an hour into the auction, six franchises hit the $75,000 ceiling for Shakib. But when the written-up amounts were revealed, Dhaka's bid was $152,000 more than their nearest rival Rajshahi, who had quoted $213,000 while newcomers Rangpur were third with a $160,000 bid.

Shakib, however, will only get $162,000 because according to the league rules, anything above the ceiling (in this case $290,000 more than $75,000) gets distributed between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (60%), the player (30%) and Game On Sports (10%), tournament's event management firm. Tamim Iqbal would have joined Shakib but Rajshahi won the coin toss after the two franchises were tied on $165,000 even after the tiebreaker.

There was more drama when Nasir Hossain's turn came. Sylhet had begun their celebrations after they were announced winners, but the commissioner belatedly realised that one last envelope had remained unopened. As it turned out, the last bid was the highest one. Rangpur, who had bid $208,137 against Sylhet's $151,000, got the services of Nasir and left the Sylhet owners in a shock.

Rangpur threw more interesting numbers during the afternoon. They bought left-handed batsman Junaid Siddique for $67,757 and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak for $92,777. They also bid $72,772 for Shahzaib Hassan and $89,792 for Ahmed Shehzad unsuccessfully. The trend inspired Khulna too as they made a successful bid of $51,105 for Farhad Reza.

The auction for the B category of foreign players went by quietly but the interest picked up again for the local players in the same category. There was a tiebreaker for almost every name; many going into the six-figure mark much against their track records. Rookie seamer Abul Hasan fetched $121,000 from Rajshahi while left-arm spinner Elias Sunny went for $106,000 to Barisal after a six-way tie on $50,000. Sylhet got young batsman Mominul Haque for $127,000 beating four other teams.

The nature of the bidding was such that teams had to make blind guesses, making some bids lop-sided. For example in case of Abul, the next best offer behind Dhaka's $121,000 was Khulna's $53,000.

After a frenetic auction day, the major challenge for the BPL will be to ensure that the players are paid according to the agreed schedule. Each player will receive 25% of his payments before the tournament starts on January 18 and the next 25% by the end of the tournament in mid-February. The other 50% will have to be paid within six months from the end of BPL 2013. The specter of unpaid player wages in BPL's first season would loom over the hype until these payments are finally made.

I thought shakib will miss BPL because of his injury. If he gets injured before the Sri Lanka tour then it will be difficult to beat them! Also hopefully we will see some upcoming fast bowlers from Bangladesh! Also good experience for youngsters to face fast bowlers from other countries!

Posted by   on (December 23, 2012, 15:57 GMT)

Since the beginning of 2010 till now in Tests, Shakib has scored in just 14 test matches 1120 runs at an average of 41 with a high score of 144 against Pakistan and in bowling, has taken 54 wickets at an average of 36 with best figures of 6/82 which was also against Pakistan. No all-rounder apart from Jacques Kallis has matched or exceeded his all-round records. Also made a rare feat of becoming the few players to score a test 100 and take a 5 wicket haul in the same test innings. The last time Kallis did that was way back in 2002 and others like Watson, Hafeez, Bravo etc have still not done that.

His record is also impressive in T20s in that time which means he is one of the few all-rounders that has performed fantastically across all formats and looks set to become one of the greatest all-rounders to date whether you like it or not because his all-round stats don't lie and he's only 25 years old young man :D

Posted by   on (December 23, 2012, 15:52 GMT)

Shakib value will of course be high because in the last 2 years, he has been one of the best performing all-rounders and had his team got to play enough Test and T20 matches, would've been ranked 1 or 2 right now.

Since the beginning of 2010 till now in ODIs, Shakib has scored 1588 runs with the bat in 51 ODI matches averaging just over 35 with a high score of 106 against New Zealand and bowling in 51 ODI matches, he has taken 77 wickets averaging 27 with the ball with best figures of 4/16 against the West Indies, no all-rounder apart from Shane Watson has come close to matching or exceeding him. He has also taken 19 catches in that time.

I can remember last year when BPL didn't get much publicity even in Bangladesh would you believe but now thanks to these fans especially of other teams and analysts, journalists etc, you guys have made BPL into something well known so really appreciate it guys for doing the job for us. It may not be anywhere near IPL or any other league is shall I say but we all know why that is but the point is that BPL is something big in Bangladesh and if it somehow manges to eradicate all those controversy or problems then BPL will no doubt be a successful T20 league a deserving number 2. Fact is that it was the first BPL that dramatically gave our regular and local players great confidence in taking on the best from the other nations and have learnt a great deal and this season will continue to do the same and become even more better in the International arena. Hope you guys haven't forgot how impressively 'minnows' performed after BPL in Asia Cup and Sahara Cup.

Next year BPL wont take any player from pakistan like BPL-1 and BPL-2.....Next year player will be taken from England, Australia,Newzeland, Srilanka,RSA, and few from Pakistan........................ lol

@kaptaan cricket:please check your stats(If you weren't sleeping since last 10 years)or use Cricinfo stats for more info before commenting. However your information of comparing Pak test ranking(Ranked 4) and Indian test ranking(Ranked 5) is correct but Pak has played very less test cricket in last 2 years and moreover i dont remember Pak being #1 test side in past(even for a day)...So please stick to the topic of BPL auctions and avoid bringing irrelevent stats.

Dhaka is definitely stronger than all other side. They got afridi , shakib , masrafi & many more. They spent a lot of money . The cost of sakib, masrafi&anamul is bigger than the whole khulna's cost . With this team dhaka can win champions league .BPL is BPL.

Posted by   on (December 22, 2012, 16:29 GMT)

Stark62: Nasir jamshed doesnt included in BPL 2 because of his match fixing controversies on the first season in BPL. I think Pakistan should be thankful that lots of Pakistani players would get opprtunity to play BPL and earn huge amount of money. They can learn from international players.Even Pakistan find Nasir jamshed and Ahmed shehjad from BPL.So pakistani fans should thanks to Bangladesh. Even Nasir jamshed,Imran nazir,Mohammed yousuf etc is an old player in Dhaka domestic league because we pay more than their Pakistan domestc cricket league.

Posted by Extraz on (December 22, 2012, 14:02 GMT)

@TIGER_THE_KILLER...mate a bangladeshi umpire who was himself was under allegation of match fixing accuse Jamshed without any proof so his accusation stand next to nothing! besides that jamshed will be busy on south africa tour so he won't be available for the BPL...and mate it's the other way around your BPL should be thankful to Pakistani players who are participating in it,Your BPL have most of the star players from either Pak or WI few players from ENG and AUS and none from IND AND SA...so if you put the PAK players out of BPL it will BD-WI league lol and there is no GAYLE and POLLARD in this edition as well,Malinga participation is still unclear...So think before you speak!

sylhet gonna pull off this time.bcoz plenty of players are from west indies.last tym they were last bcoz they didnt hv any of those.

Best time is a Barisal

Barisal Burners: Alok Kapali, Shafiul Islam, Elias Sunny, Shuvagata Hom, Shabbir Rahman, Ifthikar Ahmed, Jubair Ahmed, Alauddin Babu, Al Amin, Nazmul Apu, Saeed Ajmal, Sunil Narine, Brad Hodge, Azhar Mahmood, Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal, Phil Mustard, Kabir Ali, Hammad Azam

shakib is the world's best all rounder. he deserves this higher money

Posted by   on (December 22, 2012, 6:19 GMT)

Barisal has got the most good-looking team, then Dhaka and Rajshahi. Hopefully Gladiators will snatch it again :D Go DG!!

Posted by   on (December 22, 2012, 3:26 GMT)

what a team by DHAKA. Khulna ,Rangpur And Rajshahi are very weak team.

Posted by TheRisingTeam on (December 22, 2012, 1:33 GMT)

People are forgetting someone else what's his name? hmm...Rana Naved he played last season but wasn't bought by any franchise this time.

Posted by TheRisingTeam on (December 21, 2012, 23:17 GMT)

Prediction: highest run scorer - Tamim, most wickets - Narine, man of tournament - Shakib and winner - Barisal.

Posted by HouseMD on (December 21, 2012, 22:36 GMT)

@rising team---5 foreign players rule should be changed. most BD captain use all 5 foreign player as top 5 batsman and use them as top 5 bowlers too. they should follow IPL , 4 players rule. IPL should be role model

As long as Dhaka or Syhlet don't win then I 'll be happy. Hope underdogs Rangpur can spring a surprise and show that a team full of star players doesn't do the trick. Duronto Rajshahi who was top in the group last season only to be knocked out in semi-finals is another team that can win it.

Posted by TwohedulAzam on (December 21, 2012, 18:21 GMT)

@Adnan_Mamoon: Bro whats wrong with you, why are you so much full of negativity? Do you not see how Mashrafee, Shafi, Hasan, and even Rubel (in some matches) bowled in the recently won ODI series. How about the batting of Mahmudullah, Anamul, Mushfiq, Mominul besides Tamim? I am not even talking about super star Shakib Al Hasan as he did not play this series! And there is Shohag with his magic offbreak...so brou Bangladesh cricket is not all about slow left arm spin, yes it is our one of the strongest area! So, please do not let your prejudice taking over the reality!

where is gayle???? in which team???

Posted by Stark62 on (December 21, 2012, 17:08 GMT)

Based on the list provided, I assume no one signed Jamshed?!?!

That would be stupid because he is Pak's best batsmen and did very well in BPL before being picked for Pak squad.

Posted by braindead_rocker on (December 21, 2012, 16:49 GMT)

Being an Indian fan I should say BPL is better than cash blinded IPL by giving chance to associate players and Zimbabwe players like Kevin O Brien and Brendan Taylor.

I wish Bangla friends all the best in hosting BPL.

some weirdo indians says about IPL like they are jealous about popularity of cricket in BD........ok let me tell u guyz one thing:you compare BPL with IPL i.e. Jadega's salary(2million).......i say u should compare IPL with EPL or u can also compare thesalary of Jadega and Rooney or Torres or even Aguiro......u don't hv to go for messi or ronaldo.....i thing u might get ur answer

Posted by tushar35 on (December 21, 2012, 15:08 GMT)

@sachinisawesome, I agree with you, but regardless of BCB organize tournaments like BPL or not, players will go abroad to play other T-20 tournaments anyways, because the greed is there, and nothing wrong with it. What India and Bangladesh should do is to play more longer version league other that 50 overs limited match. This is my personal opinion; I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. One more thing, they should start playing in fast track, that's the only way they can produce some fast bowlers and batsmen wont struggle against pacers from other countries. In a local league, when pacers bowls in a spin track, normally they are unsuccessful and get frustrated. Let them bowl in a fast track and they will come up with different variations in their bowling, confidence will grow up and later they will be successful in any track. Batsmen specially will be habituated playing fast bowling also. In the local league batsmen doesn't face quality fast bowling. Lets hope for the best.

5 foreign players in BPL is too much and don't think it will do any good to our locals.

Posted by saifur.raffael on (December 21, 2012, 14:44 GMT)

@Ahmed Hussain ...yeah u r right Dhiman Ghosh was a last minute buy...but here i found that there is indeed a Jupiter Ghosh in bd ,probably bro of Dhiman......btw here u can check http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/506586.html

Dhaka Gladietors 1,Mohammad Ashraful 2, mashafi murtuzza 3,shakib al hasan 4,anamul hok bioy 5, bom bom afridi 6, dilshan 7, malega

Posted by   on (December 21, 2012, 14:21 GMT)

@saifur.raffael...Actually D.Ghosh signed for Rangpur probably last minute buys as that franchise didn't spend as heavy.

Posted by CricFan707 on (December 21, 2012, 13:50 GMT)

Really good buy by Chittagong by bringing Ryan ten Doeschate. He's going to rock the BPL. This is a great opportunity for him to come to the fore in Asia cricket. Many guys are talking about Shakib, Nazir but mark my words RTD will be the most sought after player in the next auction. Chittagong has a good chance as they have bought the crisis man!!He's one of the best finishers of the game and is also a huge consolidator. Kevin O Brien also has a chance if he's lucky like Sehwag. I've become a fan of Ahmed Shazad after his batting against India so I'm also routing for him.

Posted by saifur.raffael on (December 21, 2012, 13:41 GMT)

@ Ahmed Hussain ...for your surprise it's actually Jupiter Ghosh...& d other wicketkeeper (Dhiman Ghosh) astonishingly remained unsold...........

Posted by Munkeymomo on (December 21, 2012, 12:45 GMT)

Good to see Darren Stevens in it, he may surprise a few I think, been a top batsman in county cricket in awhile.

Posted by   on (December 21, 2012, 12:43 GMT)

Nazir got such a high price mainly because of his heroics last season in BPL infact I think he even performs well in the Dhaka League so that's why his tag is probably that high. Why Cricinfo getting the names wrong? i.e. not Jupiter (planet) Ghosh its Dhimon Ghosh.

Posted by TheBlackMonk on (December 21, 2012, 12:37 GMT)

@Stark62 : There's no need to be in shock, Nazir has been playing in Dhaka for quite a long time, especially he's a familiar name in Dhaka Premier League. So, it's rather easy for him to cope up than others, also he was equally successful in last season; not a huge fan of him though :)

Posted by SkylaDark on (December 21, 2012, 12:19 GMT)

I'm happy for Shakib, but I think that the BCB shouldn't focus too much on T20 Cricket, it's not good for the young players. Their mentality will become if 20, and they wont be able to play Test cricket.

Posted by KaptaanCricket on (December 21, 2012, 11:56 GMT)

@FAN1969:- Let me tell you that India has never won a test series in Australia,South Africa. Yup they have won in England and that too wen England were just ordinary. So check facts before you talk. And how come that you don't mention Pakistan as a better team than Pakistan? Pak:4 rank in Tests ind:5 rank in Tests.

Posted by   on (December 21, 2012, 9:31 GMT)

Why A.Thomas, D.Nannes and S.Tait are unsold in this auction ??? They should play in this tournament to raise tournament profile, Please owners try them in next auction which will held before start tournament.

Posted by Fan1969 on (December 21, 2012, 9:19 GMT)

Object to @sachiniawesome comparing India to Bangladesh.

India has been No. 1 in tests and has beaten the present top teams (SA, Eng, Aus) both at home and abroad. Yes, Indian test team is transitioning at present but that the fact remains that India has beaten Bangladesh in 6 of 7 TESTS in Bangladesh. Also beat WI, NZ in 2011-12 when Bangladesh lost at home.

Losing bowlers like Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer, Irfan and batsmen like Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman with old stalwarts like Sehwag, Gambhir and Tendulkar losing batting form. If 10 of the recent players are transitioning then a dip is natural.

Yes disappointing Indian TEST CRICKET performance but disparaging comments are uncalled for.

Posted by   on (December 21, 2012, 8:16 GMT)

No Chris Gayle/Murali/Jayasuriyaa...Why???????

Posted by   on (December 21, 2012, 8:03 GMT)

i will be with "Barisal Burners" because they have players like Azhar, Hodge, Ajmal, Narine, Kamran & Gul. i am sure they will rock

Posted by sachinisawesome on (December 21, 2012, 6:31 GMT)

I hope Bangladesh doesn't do India. They are very talented and has not achieved anything at the Test Level yet so they should focus on that. Needless to say that administrators will not care about it. So I think Bangladesh will become very strong in limited overs cricket but they will be doomed in Test Cricket like India.

Chittagong appears to be the weakest team here. Both Mahmudullah and Naeem are too slow for T20 and they are going to be in the playing 11. I hope Aftab does well this year and makes a comeback to get back his No. 3 spot in the BD T20 lineup.

Non of this will matter if the franchies do not sign the contract and written agreement for the player payment to GameOn Sports. Ppl always citisize IPL but one they always have professionalism which the BPL lack. Last year was a embaressment. Hopefully that we wont have a repeat of that.

Posted by YS_USA on (December 21, 2012, 1:24 GMT)

Not only Jadeja, but Gambhir, Yousuf, Utthappa, nobody, deserves $2 million or more. These are inflated payments for their past performance that are not necessary. Actually, very few players earn the full amount of their IPL contracts. 20 per cent of a player's salary are withheld and paid only if his team is one of the three that qualify for the Champions League from the Indian competition. Another 20% is paid pro rata for games played and many players with IPL contracts do not play any games and then, there is 30% tax withholdings. So, in reality, many players earn only 30% of their IPL contract amounts.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 23:03 GMT)

Very good for players from Pakistan, currently there is no international cricket being played in Pakistan, so this is a very positive thing for Pakistani players. hopfully they don't miss IPL and stay away from it.

Another T20 madness. It will only slow down the progress of Bangladesh's progress at Test level. Low money paid for International players shows the true worth of those player unlike overpaid IPL players. Hopefully overdose of T20 will bring back the focus back on Test Match Cricket.

Imran Nazir the top buy?!?!

I can understand the likes of Afridi and Samuels but Nazir?!?!

BPL is a goog league. Best of Luck.

Posted by Zahidsaltin on (December 20, 2012, 19:49 GMT)

Strange that two of the most exciting prospects from Pakistan, 7 feet tall Mohammad Irfan and the bowling sensation Ehsan Adil, both are not present.

@msdprabhakar on (December 20 2012, 14:34 PM GMT): I think u got ur answers from our public... so better stop criticizing our League nd focus on your own leagues nd players.... it doesnt matter how much BPL is paying the players!

Posted by LahoriLion009 on (December 20, 2012, 19:11 GMT)

At least someone admired that paki players are real beauty of t20..............best of luck BPL

TAMIM IQBAL in Duronto Rajshahi..!!! - IS A BIG SHOCK FOR ME..!! WE CHITTAGONIANS are in deep disatisfaction with our team owners..!!!! :| :|

There is a player called Azim Gangnam????? Boy, he would play cricket "Gangnam Style"...!!

Posted by TwohedulAzam on (December 20, 2012, 18:53 GMT)

Very encouraging sign for Bangladesh cricket , local players getting paid handsomely while foreigners also getting their share. But, is BCB aware about the negative press coverage about last seasons delay in payment. I understand that international players eventually got paid but look at the way english PCA comments made the headline here at Cricinfo, this is not good publicity for the tournament, if BCB was a little careful about this issue then this headlines could have been avoided. Why take criticism when you are going to pay them anyway, this could have been avoided by paying them on time, otherwise negative comment will continue because there are some people out there who do not like Bangladesh Cricket's arranging such a big tournament!

Posted by tanzim.shamsuddin on (December 20, 2012, 18:41 GMT)

Expectation from this of BPL - Players: reading the game script, execution of power and increased capability on pressure handling Organizer: how to handle controversies that occurred in the past and showing the world that BCB can step in to make things smoother

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 18:18 GMT)

where is sohel tanvir??I think the team made by Rangpur was very poor in standard. But sometimes it might work as a dark hourse. So lets see what they can do.....

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 18:06 GMT)

I think Barisal,Dhaka,Sylhet & Rajshahi will be semi-finalists. And May be if Sunil Narine & Saeed Ajmal both or either one of them play 4 BURNERS then I think BaRISAL Burners can WIN BPL2 Inshallah (as I am a supporter of burners and glads). But..... It would be better if Gladiators win BPL because THE CHampion Team will go to Play Champions League t20 and Glads have much more chance of winning clt20 than burners (i think and I am a Supporter of Barisal.)

msdprabhakar on (December 20 2012, 14:34 PM GMT) Yea u r ryt jadeja got 2m in ipl but did it do anything gud to him??? i hope u saw the ball he bowled to trott...if u remember that i think u got ur answer...

Where is Chris (Gangnam) Gayle?

Posted by Villas-Boas on (December 20, 2012, 17:33 GMT)

This is sad. Dhaka will run over teams at ease. Might as well hand over the trophy now. I hope they flop big time. And seriously khulna can't buy shakib & ending up instead with harwood & malik? really really?

and did someone here say jadeja is a good player? then maybe it's time to change the definition of good.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 17:17 GMT)

All the star international players are either from pakistan or west indies.....Last year there were still Hershelle gibbs and few english players....this time its all paki and windies show....no diversity.

Posted by Tamimfan on (December 20, 2012, 17:11 GMT)

bpl is helpful only for earning money.. local fast bowlers get hit all day long so no question of new fast bowling talents emerging out of bpl.. top batsmen are all pakistanis like nazir, akmal, shehzad, mahmood, jamshed, razzaq and others like gayle, trego, hodge, smith, samuels etc.. only talents we get is some new SLOW LEFT ARM SPINNER who does well only on these slow helpful pitches but gets hit all over the park overseas. and shakib gets paid so much.. just shows the level of cricket in bangladesh

Posted by M_Rakibul_Islam on (December 20, 2012, 17:04 GMT)

@ msdprabhakar: Why to compare IPL & BPL? It sounds like comparing English Premier League & Dutch Eredivisie in Soccer.

Posted by YS_USA on (December 20, 2012, 16:23 GMT)

These BPL salaries are more realistic than IPL bonanza. There is no need to pay millions when one US dollar is more than 50 Indian rupees. In future, IPL salaries will be lower and more realistic.

Posted by ExtremeSpeed on (December 20, 2012, 15:47 GMT)

I really hope Bangladesh players can top the charts in wicket taking and run scoring column instead of Pakistani's because last year they won them all.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 15:44 GMT)

@ msdpradhakar even after earning 2 million US$ your jadeja couldn't save India in loosing the Asia Cup match against Bangladesh. Ok? I know Jadeja is a gud player but 2 million for him is too much. Maybe ur IPL owners doesn't have any idea on cricketers. Which is why we are seeing every year at least one team is closing down from IPL.

Posted by ExtremeSpeed on (December 20, 2012, 15:43 GMT)

Who is Jadaga? just an average all-rounder who many labelled him to be 10x better than Shakib but turned out to be less than average.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 15:25 GMT)

So pakistani players will run the show again. I think prices are just about right in bpl. How much jadeja will fetch here? Lol not more than 50000.

Posted by The_Ashes on (December 20, 2012, 15:17 GMT)

@msdprabhakar:- Problem? we all know IPL is incomparable not these other countries fault they don't have major investors and a billion people which India is fortunate to have so nothing special really about IPL just fortunate to have the free blessings. Fact is it helps our Cricket and board financially and that's what matters.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 15:06 GMT)

I think Tait won't be available for the international fixtures of Australia.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 14:57 GMT)

@ msdprabhakar on (December 20 2012, 14:34 PM GMT), Why are you comparing BPL with IPL? They are 2 different leagues. BPL actually does it better to contract top quality player with about 1/5 th the amount that IPL teams spend. BPL is not looking forward to spend millions for 2 reasons, 1. They don't want to be ripped off like IPL teams for no reason. 2. No other league other than IPL spends ridiculously, so why BPL? You can see that by looking at Afridi's deal. Last year he got some 700 k, whereas same Afridi is here for just 275 k.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 14:49 GMT)

give us full players list for all team

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 14:44 GMT)

where are nasir jamshed and ahmad shehzad?

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 14:40 GMT)

IPL doesn't even pay such prices to players but I think Lasith Malinga was brought by Dhaka Gladiators.............why is he missing from the list?

Posted by msdprabhakar on (December 20, 2012, 14:34 GMT)

Hi i saw some one commenting on ipl auction amounts. Its 2 million us dollors for jadeja . Bpl will have to go 10 years ahead even to think about that amount

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 14:30 GMT)

Michael Lumb, Shaun Tait, Pollard are missing in this BPL auction (unsold or ???). However it would be top players less BPL. But also hopeful about it.

Posted by BilalShamim on (December 20, 2012, 14:25 GMT)

Ahmed Sehzad sold for 110000 by Khulna

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 14:10 GMT)

ahmed shezad malinga all are in BPL ..this list is not complite

Posted by Tokai69 on (December 20, 2012, 14:10 GMT)

Afridi is paid for his popularity, and not much justified by his current form though!

Posted by saifur.raffael on (December 20, 2012, 13:37 GMT)

I was surprised Shaun Tait n Nananies unsold.......young BD batters could hve experienced 155 km pace from Tait atleast which they dont face normally...

Posted by saifur.raffael on (December 20, 2012, 13:34 GMT)

Malinga missing from the list........he was bought by Gladiators for $175,000.....

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 13:20 GMT)

malinga not in dhaka? i thought that they picked him

Posted by AzAb12754 on (December 20, 2012, 13:14 GMT)

They better pay everything on time and run it properly after all those controversies last year otherwise there will be serious problems and could do great damage for Bangladesh Cricket. For all those that have always wondered why Bangladesh have not progressed as fast in Cricket well I think we all know the answers to that now. Shakib should be having an operation and take rest otherwise we will seriously struggle in our tour to Sri Lanka, have a funny feeling a lot of drama will happen hope not.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 13:06 GMT)

Why no Ahmed Shehzad .. ?! BPL woudl miss him wouldnt it?
