Shakib undergoes surgery on calf in Sydney

Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh allrounder, has undergone surgery on his right calf in Sydney. The surgery was the reason he was ruled out of Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka. He will be released from hospital on Wednesday and is expected to start running in three weeks.

Shakib underwent surgery for exertional compartment syndrome at the North Shore Private Hospital in Sydney on Tuesday. The surgery was conducted by Dr. Martin Sullivan, a leading international foot and ankle surgeon and an expert in treating foot and ankle conditions.

    Well I'm glad he's okay done and finally got it done. Hopefully he will be fit for the Zimbabwe series on time.
