England in Bangladesh ODI Series - 1st ODI

Bangladesh v England

England won by 6 wickets (with 24 balls remaining)

9.2

Bresnan to Imrul Kayes, OUT, gone this time, Bresnan strikes with a clever slower ball. Full and Kayes turned his wrists on it too early, found a leading edge that looped gently to Wright at mid on. Breaks an excellent opening stand

Imrul Kayes c Wright b Bresnan 15 (40m 27b 2x4 0x6) SR: 55.55

Bangladesh 63/1   Tamim Iqbal 45* (29b 7x4 2x6)   TT Bresnan 4.2-0-21-1

10.3

Broad to Junaid Siddique, OUT, lucky break for England, Broad finally pitches it up, and Siddique clips a leg-stump half-volley straight to square leg. He was slightly deceived by the slower ball, but it was a soft dismissal that England really needed. Kieswetter was the catcher, his first contribution to international cricket

Junaid Siddique c Kieswetter b Broad 0 (5m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Bangladesh 71/2   Tamim Iqbal 53* (34b 8x4 2x6)   SCJ Broad 2.3-0-24-1

12.1

Broad to Aftab Ahmed, OUT, another one for England! Brilliant stuff from Pietersen, Ahmed guiding a fullish ball to mid on, where Pietersen was close in, he swoops and under-arms a flick in a flash on to the stumps

Aftab Ahmed run out 2 (8m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 40.00

Bangladesh 82/3   Tamim Iqbal 60* (40b 9x4 2x6)   SCJ Broad 3.1-0-26-1

19.3

Swann to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT, Gone! Shakib goes, Swann strikes in his second over! Shakib skips down the wicket and is done in by some drift and really sharp turn there. Prior makes no mistake with the stumping and the Bangladesh captain goes.

Shakib Al Hasan c †Prior b Swann 12 (37m 28b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

Bangladesh 112/4   Tamim Iqbal 78* (56b 11x4 2x6)   GP Swann 1.3-0-7-1

29.3

Swann to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT, Run out! Mushfiqur what were you thinking? He taps it into the covers and runs straight away without looking at his partner, who started to run but stopped again almost immediately. Both batsmen end up at the non-striker's end. Silly, silly running there, and Bangladesh really didn't need that. This partnership was starting to look good.

Mushfiqur Rahim run out 22 (33m 34b 1x4 0x6) SR: 64.70

Bangladesh 146/5   Tamim Iqbal 90* (82b 11x4 2x6)   GP Swann 6.3-0-21-1

29.4

Swann to Mahmudullah, OUT, Gone first ball! Straight, flighted and the ball grips and turns, stopping on the batsman as he tried to work it to leg. It takes the leading edge and loops to a short, straight-ish midwicket for the easiest of catches.

Mahmudullah c Collingwood b Swann 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Bangladesh 146/6   Tamim Iqbal 90* (82b 11x4 2x6)   GP Swann 6.4-0-21-2

40.1

Wright to Naeem Islam, OUT, and with the bowling change comes a wicket! A full ball from Wright on off stump, Naeem makes a bit of room and drives into the covers, but picks out Eoin Morgan, who makes no mistake this time.

Naeem Islam c Morgan b Wright 25 (44m 31b 2x4 0x6) SR: 80.64

Bangladesh 209/7   Tamim Iqbal 124* (114b 13x4 3x6)   LJ Wright 0.1-0-0-1

41.3

Swann to Mashrafe Mortaza, OUT, Gone! Mortaza on the sweep first ball from Swann. That looked dead straight away, full and right on the stumps, he misses with the attempted sweep and the ball thuds into his front pad

Mashrafe Mortaza lbw b Swann 4 (5m 6b 1x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Bangladesh 214/8   Tamim Iqbal 125* (116b 13x4 3x6)   GP Swann 9.3-0-32-3

42.4

Broad to Tamim Iqbal, OUT, Gone! Tamim moves around again, stepping across to the off side this time and trying to paddle the ball down to fine leg. He telegraphed the movement though, and Broad speared the ball in to shatter the stumps

Tamim Iqbal b Broad 125 (187m 120b 13x4 3x6) SR: 104.16

Bangladesh 214/9   Abdur Razzak 0* (3b)   SCJ Broad 7.4-1-40-2

45.4

Sidebottom to Abdur Razzak, OUT, and that's a very tame end to the innings. Razzaq makes room to try and hit the ball over the off side, but doesn't time it at all as the ball hits the bottom of the bat and loops very gently to Cook at mid off

Abdur Razzak c Cook b Sidebottom 2 (20m 10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00

Bangladesh 228/10   Shafiul Islam 11* (11b 2x4)   RJ Sidebottom 7.4-0-46-1

45.4

Sidebottom to Abdur Razzak, OUT
