England in Bangladesh ODI Series - 3rd ODI

Bangladesh v England

England won by 45 runs

Hello and welcome to coverage from the 3rd ODI of England's tour to Bangladesh. Sahil Dutta here, and alongside Liam Brickhill, we shall be taking you through all the action from today's game.

The series may be sealed, but as the mighty Andrew McGlashan's preview suggests, there is plenty to keep an eye on for in this game. Not least Bangladesh looking to edge their first ever victory over England.

If you are following this coverage from England, I dare say you shouldn't be, but who am I to judge? Send us an email explaining quite why you're up.

Anyway, the important thing here is that Andrew Miller, who has a Twitter page that you should check out, is in Chittagong and has sniffed out some team news.

Ajmal Shahzad will make his debut, the third England debutant in as many matches, in place of the injured Stuart Broad and Liam Plunkett plays his first game for England since July 2007, coming in for James Tredwell.

Bangladesh are far more settled, remaining unchanged.

So, just so it's formal and we all know where we stand, the teams line up like this: England 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Craig Kieswetter, 3 Kevin Pietersen, 4 Paul Collingwood, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Matt Prior (wk), 7 Luke Wright, 8 Ajmal Shahzad, 9 Tim Bresnan, 10 Graeme Swann, 11 Liam Plunkett

Bangladesh 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Imrul Kayes, 3 Aftab Ahmed, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Shakib al Hasan (capt), 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Naeem Islam, 8 Suhrawadi Shuvo, 9 Abdur Razzak, 10 Shafiul Islam, 11 Rubel Hossain

News from the middle is Bangladesh have won the toss and England will bat

Here's an early state attack for you, from Andrew "five of the seven ODIs at this ground to date have been won by the side batting second." So there you go, could be Bangladesh's day. But we've said that the last two games.

8.50am About ten minutes to go until the action gets underway. If you're already sick of our commentary you can talk to each other on our Facebook page. If you'd rather do something better, however, I recommend Andrew Miller's tour diary, which is far better than the title 'tour diary' suggests.

Right, I've already worked myself into a break, so here is Liam to kick things off.

Bangladesh are out in the field, and they are being joined by Alastair Cook and Craig Kieswetter. The crowd appears to be building up nicely, and is already quite vocal. It'll be Alastair Cook to face...

0.1

Shafiul Islam to Cook, 1 wide, and he starts with a ball that pitches on leg and heads further that way, rightly called wide

0.1

Shafiul Islam to Cook, no run, much better line, and seaming away slightly, pushed defensively to mid off

It may be 3am in England, but Nick is up and fancies an early sledge, "Following from Ireland, have the luxury of a job that allows me to watch England at all ungodly hours, though to be honest this time it's more insomnia than any great desire to watch Bangladesh, plucky though they are!"

0.2

Shafiul Islam to Cook, no run, straighter, Cook tucks the ball to mid on this time

0.3

Shafiul Islam to Cook, no run, that's leg side again, Cook gets across to push to leg but the ball takes the pad. Rahim takes it on the bounce with a slight fumble

0.4

Shafiul Islam to Cook, 1 run, tucks him up slightly there, but well played by Cook, he just opens the face and runs the ball down to third man

Sohrab, has spotted a Terry-Bridge potential scandal "Shakib forgot to shake hands when Cook offered after the toss." Hmmm.

Craig Kieswetter on strike, he'll be hoping to occupy the crease for longer today

0.5

Shafiul Islam to Kieswetter, no run, rocks back in watchful defence to his first ball

0.6

Shafiul Islam to Kieswetter, no run, fuller, but wide of off stump and Kieswetter leaves confidently

AN Cook    1* (4b)

It'll be Rubel Hossain to open from the other end

1.1

Rubel Hossain to Cook, no run, that's a nasty blow! Pitched slightly short, Cook misreads the skiddy bounce as he shapes to tuck the ball off his hips to leg and is struck in the midriff

1.2

Rubel Hossain to Cook, FOUR, great comeback from Cook! That's much too short, no pace in this wicket and the ball is pulled away with disdain. Good, clean strike

1.3

Rubel Hossain to Cook, no run, fuller and on the pads, Cook pushes to leg in his characteristic way, but finds the fielder at square leg

1.4

Rubel Hossain to Cook, 5 wides, yorker length, but way down leg and moving further away. Rahim dives to his right somewhat sluggishly but the ball passes him by and races to the boundary

1.4

1.5

Rubel Hossain to Cook, 1 run, Cook leans forward to push the ball into the covers

1.6

Rubel Hossain to Kieswetter, no run, full and a touch wide outside off stump, Kieswetter thrusts his front foot out and leaves the ball with high hands

Paul has chosen Cricinfo to reveal his hidden secret, "I am still awake as every time I go to sleep my cat poppy keeps licking my face. Thinking of puting her down but don't tell the mrs." Let's hope Mrs Paul isn't following the game.

Shafiul Islam to Cook, no run, and there's more skiddy bounce from Rubel, Cook tries to tuck the ball to leg but is squared up and struck in the stomach once again

2.3

Shafiul Islam to Cook, 1 run, he's slipped a little too leg side there, put away easily to the fielder at deep square leg

2.4

Shafiul Islam to Kieswetter, no run, was there an edge there? Big appeal from the bowler, but the fielders were slower to react. Kieswetter pushed forward tentatively and the ball whizzed past the edge to the keeper

2.5

3.1

Abdur Razzak to Cook, 1 run, fullish and on the toes, Cook plays it away to midwicket, tucking the ball away under his eyes

Liam Brickhill's innings bulletin will be ready for you soon, there are the more terse summaries from Andrew Miller's Twitter page and there is, of course, our ever-delightful Facebook page.

Innings break Well, at times England looked a little wobbly, but in the final 10 overs they surged ahead. They opted for the batting Powerplay earlier, which is surely a better option than waiting for 45, and took 107 from the last 10 overs. Kieswetter's maiden ODI hundred set things up and Morgan and Wright's cameo knocks finished it off.

End of over 50 (15 runs) England 284/5
LJ Wright    32* (13b 2x4 2x6)      Rubel Hossain    6-0-62-0
TT Bresnan    6* (3b 1x4)      Shafiul Islam    5-0-35-1
