Bangladesh v England

England won by 9 wickets

Overs 1-50  | Overs 51-100  | Overs 101-150

8.5

Broad to Imrul Kayes, OUT, excellent catch this time! Imrul this time drove loosely and the ball ballooned towards the right of Finn at mid off. With the ball dying on him, he ran in and dived and held on to a fine catch. Poor shot to get out to

Imrul Kayes c Finn b Broad 12 (37m 26b 2x4 0x6) SR: 46.15

Bangladesh 53/1   Tamim Iqbal 36* (27b 6x4)   SCJ Broad 4.5-1-17-1

22.1

Tredwell to Tamim Iqbal, OUT, Tamim falls! And Tredwell picks up his first wicket in Test cricket. The ball was flighted on middle and Tamim went for the sweep, but was beaten in the flight and the ball appeared to strike the glove and the forearm and loop up gently onto the leg side, where Prior ran round and dived to take the catch. The replays are inconclusive as to whether he actually got a touch on that, but he's been given out, and that'll be a relief for England!

Tamim Iqbal c †Prior b Tredwell 85 (93m 71b 13x4 1x6) SR: 119.71

Bangladesh 119/2   Junaid Siddique 16* (37b 3x4)   JC Tredwell 3.1-1-2-1

23.3

Swann to Jahurul Islam, OUT, Swann strikes! Jahurul falls for a duck on debut! Jahurul went back to defend, but the ball turned more than he expected, beating the bat and thumping into the pad. Swann went up in an appeal straight away, and replays suggest that the ball was, indeed, just going to clip leg stump. Bangladesh tottering now after that scorching start

Jahurul Islam lbw b Swann 0 (5m 6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Bangladesh 122/3   Junaid Siddique 19* (39b 3x4)   GP Swann 8.3-0-49-1

37.6

Swann to Junaid Siddique, OUT, Siddique gone this time and Swann strikes again! Well this is a classic, modern spinners' wicket, Siddique came forward and the ball creped between bat and pad to strike Siddique in front

Junaid Siddique lbw b Swann 39 (108m 76b 7x4 0x6) SR: 51.31

Bangladesh 167/4   Mahmudullah 25* (50b 4x4)   GP Swann 14-1-58-2

57.1

Finn to Mahmudullah, OUT, and he picks up a wicket with his first ball! The ball was pitched up and shaped away from the right-hander. Mahmudullah didn't get his foot to the pitch, and his weight was still on the back foot, and so he ended up slicing the drive to backward point to give Collingwood a very easy catch. He had played well for his half-century, but Bangladesh really needed him to push on for a big score.

Mahmudullah c Collingwood b Finn 59 (123m 106b 9x4 0x6) SR: 55.66

Bangladesh 226/5   Shakib Al Hasan 25* (59b 5x4)   ST Finn 2.1-0-22-1

62.5

Tredwell to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT, gone this time! Shakib couldn't resist another attacking stroke, this time a sweep and he's taken on the back leg...huge appeal from Tredwell and that's his second Test wicket as the finger goes up. Big breakthrough for England after tea

Shakib Al Hasan lbw b Tredwell 49 (97m 79b 10x4 0x6) SR: 62.02

Bangladesh 254/6   Mushfiqur Rahim 4* (14b)   JC Tredwell 18.5-3-60-2

82.5

Bresnan to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT, that is an absolute beauty! He's kept it on that length all over and now he's got the reward. Once again, Rahim went back to defend but this time the ball jagged away from him and bounced just enough to take the shoulder of the bat. Prior makes no mistake behind the stumps. That's really a great effort from Bresnan to draw some life from this flat wicket, and Bangladesh lose another one!

Mushfiqur Rahim c †Prior b Bresnan 30 (96m 83b 3x4 1x6) SR: 36.14

Bangladesh 301/7   Naeem Islam 16* (51b 2x4)   TT Bresnan 9.5-2-34-1

87.1

Swann to Abdur Razzak, OUT, Gone! The ball was pitched full and straight, Razzak's feet went nowhere and his bat swished across the line as the ball thudded into the pad. Swann and the ring of close fielders went up in unison, and he looked plumb even from the first sighting. Swann strikes again with the first ball of a new spell!

Abdur Razzak lbw b Swann 3 (20m 13b 0x4 0x6) SR: 23.07

Bangladesh 314/8   Naeem Islam 26* (64b 4x4)   GP Swann 26.1-4-85-3

108.2

Bresnan to Shafiul Islam, OUT, and Shafiul's cameo comes to an end. Bresnan fired the ball slightly wider of off and Shafiul threw his bat out at it without moving his feet an inch. The ball took a healthy edge, and though it died on its way through to Prior, he did well to dive forward and to his right to snaffle the catch. And so ends a good innings from Shafiul, which took Bangladesh within touching distance of 400

Shafiul Islam c †Prior b Bresnan 53 (76m 51b 11x4 0x6) SR: 103.92

Bangladesh 388/9   Naeem Islam 45* (141b 5x4)   TT Bresnan 16.2-6-45-2

117.1

Swann to Rubel Hossain, OUT, gone this time, Swann has the breakthrough! Rubel prodded forward and feathered an edge through to Prior, who made no mistake.

Rubel Hossain c †Prior b Swann 17 (40m 22b 4x4 0x6) SR: 77.27

Bangladesh 419/10   Naeem Islam 59* (172b 8x4)   GP Swann 36.1-5-114-4
