Profile

An opening batsman, Nic Maddinson was part of the New South Wales Under-19 side that won the Australian Under-19 championships in December 2009. Two months earlier, he topped the batting averages in the home series against Sri Lanka Under-19s, when he averaged 72 and scored a brilliant 133 not out at a run a ball. Maddinson, a keen rugby union and rugby league player in his younger days, scored 85 runs in Australia's successful 2010 Under-19 World Cup campaign. During the offseason he was handed a rookie contract with New South Wales.
