A tall allrounder who compares his playing style to that of fellow Victorian medium-pacer Andrew McDonald, Alex Keath gave up a promising AFL career to focus on cricket. The AFL's new Gold Coast Club wanted Keath as one of their start-up players, but instead he signed a full three-year contract with Cricket Victoria during the 2010 off-season, while he was still at high school. A member of Australia's triumphant Under-19 World Cup squad in 2010, Keath also collected four wickets for the Prime Minister's XI against the touring West Indians.
