All said and done, BD skipper Mushfiqur Rahim's comments say it all : One should not forget that if they lose, India will lose, not India A. However, I think the Indian batting side is very strong, only the bowling is lacking a front-line fast bowler. Should be really an entertaining series. BD should take nothing for granted.

This is called horses for courses. If you play a test team like SA, Aus , ENG who are better teams, Indian team should be framed in a manner that they are competitive. Now slide back to Bangladesh who are receding in the last year with their performance with so much that people question their ODI performance after their recent Asia cup that they are now being questioned about their legitimacy in staying as a 9th odi team in the world, forget test team. A fact that is really being pressed more often. Therefore, it is all but pertinent to give a thought about the Indian team being sent vs a gruelling IPL season which saw few injuries to top players being rested as an opportunity. After this I wanted to ask how many times did SA/Aus/ENG visited BD for a tour? Can any one highlight pls? when they question the team being sent , they should dig a hole , go inside it and think, do we deserve to talk and comment on them or should we not introspect our team first on staying as 9th test team.

  • An_Opinion on June 1, 2014, 4:14 GMT

Dissappointing to see all "name calling" comments from Bangladesh fans - totally uncalled for.

For your own benefit, try to see this - this Indian team was whitewashed in their previous tour of England and one major reason was injuries. Their guys are coming back from a long season and going for another long season - they are trying to minimize the probability of loosing players.

Now some hard realization from your side - Instead of complaining, shouting at others, please try to practice gratitude - Bangladesh has been given a lot of opportunities - a lot by many countries and finally swallow this bitter pill - after 14 years of international cricket - Bangladesh hasn't really proved itself.

These comments are written in best interest of cricket and cricketing community as such. Being down is not bad but blaming others will only delay the process of your own shining. May BD cricket do well in future. Good luck!

People who are highly appreciating India's squad for Bangladesh- Are u guys become happy in the same way as you are happy right now when India sends such a team to play with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and South Africa? Reply will definitely be that-No! we will not support that. And that is your fault! Because you guys are much more ripen from your time. Do not underestimate anyone who is less powerful in cricketing strength and mentality as after some days they may show you the right way to behave sensibly.

  • Anubhav-the-Experience on May 31, 2014, 4:35 GMT

Bangladesh can turn tables on India by beating it badly..you do that & no one will do this to you again...but I am doubtful...your team's performance is getting worst..

  • on May 30, 2014, 8:28 GMT

Firstly, selecting such a team by no means is a way of dishonoring Bangladesh team. It's a good side, but to be honest I feel they haven't lived upto expectatations in the last year or so and need to be much more consistent.

Secondly,What's mean-minded in this? It's important to consider why such a team has been sent. Regular Indian cricketers have been playing for last 6-7 months on a roll and require some respite before a long tour of England. Besides, it's important to test our bench strength. Except for Parveez Rasool (maybe I'm unaware of his abilities?), I am convinced that this is a nicely selected team of very high potential players. To be honest with no offence intended, Bangladesh won't have an easy time against this talented young squad.

  • ramli on May 30, 2014, 8:04 GMT

@serokon ... let BD first turn up in the matches ... even if they do, we don't mind a Banglawash!! After all it is very boring to see team after team thrashing BD all the time ... we welcome a change???

  • ramli on May 30, 2014, 8:00 GMT

@Md Minar ... where is the mean-mindedness here? You wanted an Indian team to come to BD to boost your TV rights price ... you got one ... similarly ... when India asks BD to tour, we certainly will not complain about your quality ... why don't you let your team do the talking with performance rather than turning sour even before that ... a day may come when India loses to Bermuda, but that day BD won't even be in the cricket map ...

Many Comments from Bangladesh fans calling Indian selection mean, why would you say that, it is important for India to test out its bench strength. I am sure Bangladesh is a talented team and they can beat any team in the world on their day. They just need to be consistent. They should be able to beat this team in the series

  • Chennai_Cricket on May 30, 2014, 7:09 GMT

    Nice one. Very good cartoons

  • on May 30, 2014, 6:34 GMT

Indians' are mean minded. They don't know cricket is a game of equality. Whatever. I don't think they have a minimum level of cricketing courtesy. And someday the will frequently loose with Bermuda I wish.

  • on May 30, 2014, 6:31 GMT

Cricket is not only a game, is also matter of pride, respect, friendship. India board of cricket dishonored Bangladesh cricket team by this meanness. How Bangladeshi ppl will honor them!!! They even don't know minimum manner.

  • Rajeshj on May 30, 2014, 6:31 GMT

Good cartoon Satish, but really the team was selected by Sandeep Patil and not Srinivasan.. Looks like your obsession with Srini has made you forget this simple fact.. Anycase, it was a fantastic one.. Its time for the Bangladeshis to understand more of their cricket.. They do have a sub-standard team, which has some talent, but no knowledge or maturity.. they are just too emotional and never apply their brain to a match situation.. They have only 2 players (Shakib and Mushfiqur) who does that occasionally .. Bangladesh requires a strong-minded, knowledgeable captain and an equally strong-willed team players.. Without that, they are just as good to play for clubs rather than international matches.. This is hard truth and they have to understand that..

  • serokon on May 30, 2014, 4:05 GMT

Congratulation to India on declaring their young energetic inform players and giving rest to the players who will be in rest very soon!. Welcoming India in Bangladesh and hope to see off them with a gift called 'Banglawash' . After all, we are neighbors.

  • on May 29, 2014, 23:35 GMT

great mental move by indian board after watching bangladesh in world t20 .bangladesh cant beat a club side of hong kong they cant even come close to win 1 odi against a reputable indian 2nd eleven .3-0 to india .

  • Manu4 on May 29, 2014, 21:42 GMT

Its a good attempt by BCCI to infuse a little bit excitement in an otherwise super-boring series. Personally I still feel that this Indian team is too strong for Bangladesh and will win all matches.

  • on May 29, 2014, 21:04 GMT

LOL for a second I cannot see Indian team losing to Bangladesh

  • on May 29, 2014, 20:00 GMT

Don't worry come fast to Bangladesh and got whitewash slowly.

  • Captain_Tuk_Tuk on May 29, 2014, 19:49 GMT

Wow! Looks like everyone is reminding me the stats on speaking truth. I am a true cricket fan I am Pakistani by the way.

What I am saying is that India have courage to give chance to youngsters and now if the lose to Bangladesh it won't matter at-least Bangladesh have half a chance now without Dhoni and Kholi.

Pakistan's lose in South Africa's test series, do anyone here remember what they scored in a Test match? And against South Africa in UAE we were all out for 99. Atleast India don't loose against non Asia teams in sub continent. Lets face the truth we don't have a good leader and India has far better team than we do.

  • on May 29, 2014, 19:42 GMT

    Outstanding..great work Satish.

  • HammadAziz on May 29, 2014, 18:58 GMT

come on dude..............ths is not inida A or an IPL side this will show that india has that much of talent.....expecting crunch games...but india will win all of thm...best wishes for team Bangla.......need to work very harder guys...this is not an easy team to face its TEAM INDIA..........

  • on May 29, 2014, 17:02 GMT

Yo, young indian tallent will wash bangladeshis :D :D

  • on May 29, 2014, 16:43 GMT

India afraid our Tigers, lol.Thats why they sending their younger team.No problem & No excuse whatever they want, coz after BanglaWash, they cant say that Bangladesh won against the India a or less.world will see our victory against the india. All the Very best BANGLADESH Cricket Team.

  • on May 29, 2014, 16:42 GMT

well i think its a great great move and yeah risky too.. but as we saw when last time india toured england there were players who were making comeback after injury and on other hand zaheer pulled himself an injury in very first match.. so its important to give the guys rest.. and send a full committed indian team to fight in england. plus the team selected for bangladesh is not solely on the basis of ipl.. selectors have also considered their domestic season.. and all of them were pretty much consistent in both domestic as well as ipl. IPL shouldnt be the only reason to select a player.. but it shouldnt be neglected as whole. SO greatt move doesnt matter much the win or lose in bangladesh the young players will get an exposure and england touring players can get a rest after a very busy ipl schedule.

  • on May 29, 2014, 16:21 GMT

Even if Bd won the series 2-1, it will be disappointing.

  • on May 29, 2014, 15:24 GMT

lol after losing or winning they will get more excuse

  • on May 29, 2014, 15:16 GMT

Its bad for cricket. If God forbade 2nd strength Ind team lose, BD will come in delusion that they are competitive... I want India to win for betterment of cricket

  • on May 29, 2014, 15:03 GMT

lol... gr8 excuse for team india... good job BCCI..!! (y)

  • kc69 on May 29, 2014, 15:00 GMT

Lets see the probabilities, If Bangladesh wins this series their fans will get into virtual reality again unless they face a reality check in some big tournament and if by mistake lets suppose this IPL team wins against BD I will leave the rest to imagination.

  • RajSma on May 29, 2014, 14:55 GMT

To all Bangladeshis,By commenting Bangla Wash u are underestimating our young Indian talents.....And u will feel for this......

  • on May 29, 2014, 14:26 GMT

India has already find an excuse if they loose against Bangladesh by not sending their full gear team...well done!!

  • on May 29, 2014, 14:23 GMT

Don't be scurrilous Bangladesh..India sending their national team it's inconsequential who are in the team..so just play like Tiger and give them a lesson..i think India will excrete their ego after this series.....Best of luck BD TIGERS..awaiting for another BANGLA WASH..

  • ullash130 on May 29, 2014, 14:20 GMT

    Another Banglawash is coming ahead

  • on May 29, 2014, 14:14 GMT

  • on May 29, 2014, 14:12 GMT

Banglawash is waiting for team india

  • on May 29, 2014, 14:05 GMT

Hope this time will say to India something about Bangladesh like as BD in WI, however this is like underestimate a normal team which already clean wash-out twice to NJ and India has been tatters by them near past. how funny BCCI !

  • Mr.Tamim on May 29, 2014, 14:03 GMT

As a Bangladeshi, I Think...... This B Time of India is Capable for Whitewashe Bangladesh

  • on May 29, 2014, 14:01 GMT

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:52 GMT

dont wry we will bangladeshi power

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:47 GMT

What do India think? Why are they sending such team? BCCI's ego will ruin them one day...

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:40 GMT

Ajinkya, Uthappa, Pujara, Raina, Rayudu, W.Saha(Wk), P Rasool, S Binny, Amit Mishra, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav. would sum up a nice equation.

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:39 GMT

Bangladesh Have the ability to beat India. India always scared Bangladesh, even they never Invite Bangladesh in their home. They know that they will loss in Bangladesh, as a result, they send their second class team, so that they can ignore the matter if they face Bangla-Wash(White wash).

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:37 GMT

This time Bangla wash than India will send full team.

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:24 GMT

The biggest worry for Bangladesh will be Robin Uthapa. Judging by his form in the IPL, he looks good for big runs.

  • on May 29, 2014, 13:11 GMT

@captain_tuk_tuk.... if you look at the stats then you would be able to see that Pakistan has lost fewer matches against the weaker opponent's than India...we lost only one match against Bangladesh...but i do agree with the fact that strong teams such as Pakistan should send younger players to give them opportunities and it also gives weaker teams such as Bangladesh,Zimbabwe etc. to have a chance of winning..

  • Emadthegreat on May 29, 2014, 13:10 GMT

@Captain_Tuk_Tuk at least Pakistan knows how to change the game for good or the worse. Plus we never lost to England 5-0 and to Australia 2-0 in the most recent away test series (of course we lost to Australia 5-0 in 2010). Where as India lost 10 out 12 away test matches with only 2 drawn by chance, losing series from new zealand is same as losing to zimbabwe or bangladesh. plus india lost 4-0 from new zealand with one lucky tie :D

  • Captain_Tuk_Tuk on May 29, 2014, 12:49 GMT

That's the best part of Indian management they can send weaker teams or they dare to do it on some easy tours where as Pakistan send full strength team for Zimbabwe and yet lost an ODI and a Test match where as India I think will white wash Bangladesh with their 60% strength :)
