Profile

Dennis Cox joined the Surrey staff as a professional in 1948 and between 1949 and 1957 he played 42 times for the county as a quick bowler and lower middle-order batsman. His best performance - 7 for 22 and 11 for 70 in the match - came against Cambridge University in 1952. He went on to play for Crewe in the Staffordshire League. He was president of Surrey in 1992, only the fourth professional to hold the post.
