Captain Sholto Douglas was one of four brothers who played for Middlesex after being in the XI at Dulwich. Sholto was in the Dulwich side for four years from 1890 and played once for Middlesex as a middle-order batsman in 1906. A professional soldier, he served in the Boer War and then helped his brother, James, run a prep school in Godalming. He joined up on the outbreak of war in 1914 and was killed serving with the 16th Middlesex regiment.
