RUBIE, LIEUT.-COL. CLAUDE BLAKE, C.B.E., E.D., died on November 3 after an operation, aged 51. He was the appointed manager of the cricket team that would have toured India during the winter had not the war intervened. A well-known member of MCC he used to keep wicket occasionally for Sussex.
