David Else arrived in Toowoomba in 1998 where he plays for the University CC in the Toowoomba CA competitions. He represented Toowoomba and Eastern Downs in QCA competitions and has kept wicket for Eastern Downs in the Schaefer Shield in each season since his arrival and has represented South Queensland in the Country Cup. He was selected as the Queensland Country wicket keeper for the National Country Championships played at Barooga in New South Wales in January 1999 and performed with considerable credit. He can open the innings and has done so for each of Toowoomba, Eastern Downs and South Queensland as well as in three of his five matches for Queensland Country, batting in the middle of the order in the other two. He was captain of the South Queensland team in 2001-02 and 2002-03 and was selected in that role in the Queensland Country team in each of these two seasons. A good series saw him as a member of the Australia Country team for the match against New Zealand. Before coming to Toowoomba he played cricket in Bunbury with the South Bunbury CC and spent six seasons playing in Perth, two with Melville and four with University. In 1995 he played league cricket in Kent for St Lawrence and Highland Court. Schools: Bunbury Primary; Bunbury Senior High.
