Australian born but Norfolk raised, Ian Blanchett was a fast-medium bowler who played five times for Middlesex and who also had trials with Essex, Kent and Somerset, as well as playing Minor County cricket for Norfolk and finally Cambridgeshire. He moved into coaching after finishing playing and did that in Australia and New Zealand as well as in the UK where he coached at Ealing.
