Queensland Country v MCC, Toowoomba, February 1-2, 1933

MCC go easy up country

Text size: A | A

Match drawn - Scorecard

On the first day the MCC batsmen hit freely, Ames, who hit three 6's and eight 4's and Hammond both scoring their runs very rapidly. When the Country XII batted, Larwood did not bowl at top speed, but they lost half their wickets for 29. Larwood was then rested until the total had reached 204, largely through a fine eighth-wicket stand by two young players, Brittle and Raymond. Coming on again, Larwood quickly finished off the innings. When the MCC went in again, Jardine made 77 not out in 96 minutes, while Paynter hit two sixes and four fours.
