6.4 to GC Smith, Johnson is ecstatic as Smith edges to second slip. He landed the ball short of a length just outside off stump and got it to straighten after pitching, Smith played for the angle into him and pushed forward at it, giving Clarke a simple catch. 24/1
1533812.53757000
31.1 to HM Amla, there's his first Test wicket! Cummins bowls a fullish ball outside off stump, Amla tries to play a powerful drive through cover. He reached out for it without really moving his feet and went hard at the ball. The outside edge flew rapidly to Ponting at second slip, he caught it at head height. Sharp catch. Cummins has been rewarded for a fine effort on debut. 129/4
1546934.606813100
28.5 to JH Kallis, caught at midwicket! Kallis flicks a length ball off his pads straight to Khawaja at midwicket, who had to jump as the ball lobbed towards him. Kallis takes a look at the pitch after the dismissal, I think that ball stopped on him a little. Siddle is pumped and gives him a small send-off. 123/3
60.5 to AB de Villiers, Cummins has taken a sensational catch! AB tried to pull a short of a length delivery from around of stump, the ball bounced a bit more and he ended up slicing it in the air over the bowler's head. The catch was closer to Johnson at mid-on, but Cummins tore towards it from mid-off and dived full length to take it as the ball fell over his head. 243/6
62.5 to MV Boucher, another one falls, to another silly shot. Boucher tries to pull a short ball but gets a top edge that goes towards long leg, Haddin begins to run after the ball but realises he won't get there. Lyon comes running in from the boundary to take the catch. 245/8
3.511313.39193000
14.4 to JA Rudolph, caught behind! Watson pitches just short of a length around off stump and slants the ball across the left-hander, Rudolph stays on his crease and pushes tentatively, he gets an edge through to Haddin. A soft way to go after playing some fabulous shots full of intent. 43/2
1325224.00545200
59.6 to AG Prince, caught at mid-on! Prince has looked edgy for a while, ever since tea, and after several edges through slip against Siddle, he finally holes out at mid-on. He came out of his crease to loft the ball down the ground, he didn't get under it and so he couldn't find the elevation to clear Johnson.. 241/5
61.5 to VD Philander, lbw! Philander moves back and towards the off side to play across the line towards square leg, Lyon pitches the ball outside off and angles it into the right-hander. Philander misses the ball and gets hit plumb in front. 243/7
401002.50180020
41621.50211000
68.2 to M Morkel, edged to first slip and Watson's caught it! Clarke goes round the wicket and angles the ball across the left-hander, Morkel pushes forward and away from his body and gets a gentler edge to Watson. 258/9
70.6 to Imran Tahir, it's over. Tahir couldn't survive the last ball and is caught at bat pad. He lunged forward to defend and got an inside edge on to the front pad, Hughes dived forward and took a low catch at short leg. 266/10

46.3 to RT Ponting, that looks plumb, it's been given lbw, and Ponting walks without asking for a review! Steyn bowled a fast ball, pitching outside off stump and angling into the right-hander, Ponting moved his front foot across his stumps and played slightly across the line. He missed and was hit flush on the knee roll. Plumb.. 193/3
59.4 to UT Khawaja, that looks stone dead, plumb as it gets, but Khawaja has appealed against the lbw decision to give him out. Steyn pitched the ball on middle stump, angling it across the left-hander, and then got it to straighten off the pitch, beating Khawaja as he played slightly forward and across the line. The ball hit him around the knee roll. That's hitting just above the middle of middle stump. A waste of a review. 228/5
61.6 to MEK Hussey, bowled him! Beautiful ball. Steyn pitches on a good length from over the wicket in line with the stumps and gets the ball to straighten off the pitch into the left-hander, Hussey played from his crease and tried to defend, bringing his bat slightly across his pad. The ball clips the pad before hitting off and middle stump. 233/6
73.4 to PJ Cummins, caught behind! The outswinger is too good for the debutant. Steyn pitches the ball on a good length around middle and off and swings it away. Cummins pushes forward to defend and gets an edge that flies towards first slip. It won't reach first slip, though, because Boucher dives to his right and takes a good catch. 285/9
1544713.13696011
36.3 to PJ Hughes, caught at first slip! Hughes stayed in his crease and tried to drive a good length ball off the back foot through cover, Philander got the ball to bounce and angle away from the left-hander and the ball flew quickly off the outside edge. Kallis began to move his hands towards his right at second slip, but then stopped. AB was ready at first slip and took a sharp catch to the left of his head.. 174/1
1746213.648211013
54.3 to MJ Clarke, caught at first slip! Clarke's been done in by the steep bounce outside off stump. Morkel got the ball to rise sharply from just outside off stump, Clarke jumped on the back foot and tried to cut, the ball flew high, but not too high for AB de Villiers. He really should have let that ball go. 212/4
1325614.305711010
45.4 to SR Watson, caught at deep square leg! Watson takes on Kallis' short ball and pulls it flat and hard towards Tahir on the boundary. Tahir moves to his right and dives to take the catch. 192/2
13.425534.02557100
68.1 to BJ Haddin, Haddin's lbw! But he's reviewed it. In vain. That is plumb. Haddin played forward to one that drifted into him and straightened off the pitch. He played down the wrong line and was hit just below the knee roll. Replays show the ball hitting and says it's the umpire's call. Out. Tahir has his maiden Test wicket. Haddin also played slightly across the line. 255/7
68.5 to PM Siddle, look at that celebration! It is bonkers. Tahir is ecstatic and goes off on a huge celebratory run after the googly pitches outside off and spins sharply into the right-hander, bowling Siddle, who didn't pick it as he played from the crease. He was bowled between bat and pad. 255/8
76.4 to NM Lyon, lbw! Lyon plays back and doesn't pick the googly, it pitches outside off and spins back in to hit the back pad plumb in front. Australia have been dismissed with a lead of 30. 296/10

84.1 to HM Amla, Mitch has removed Amla, huge wicket for Australia, they haven't done badly at all this morning, Mitch slants it across Amla from short of a length, not too much on the angle, close to Amla too, maybe that is why he pokes at it, and Haddin does the rest with a low take to his right. 260/6
2957962.721358130
7.2 to JA Rudolph, top edged! Now this is quite a familiar sight in this Test match, another batsman top edges after being well set, this one climbs on Rudolph outside off, he was aiming for over square leg, Haddin takes the skier easily. 40/1
27.2 to JH Kallis, and a fantastic reward for the young man! He set it up beautifully by peppering him with short deliveries, this time he angles it on the corridor outside off, Kallis pokes at it, hew doesn't have much time to react and the ball takes the edge and flies to Clarke at first slip. This reminds me of the way Ishant Sharma foxed Ponting at the WACA. 90/3
73.1 to AB de Villiers, Cummins has struck now, mighty poor half-stroke from AB though, he is caught at second slip, Cummins had been trying to do this all morning, getting the batsman to drive, but the length had not been as full, it was this time, sucked AB out, who tried to push without moving the feet much, and ended up having a sort of poke at it, it still fairly flew off the edge high to Clarke at second slip. 237/4
105.1 to VD Philander, whoa, that is a very late decision from Billy to give him out, Philander was handed a snorter from Cummins first ball after lunch, pitched short and reared up, Philander tried to ride the bounce and fended at it, it seems to have grazed the right thumb on its way to the keeper, there was a sound as well, that is what replays suggest, he had hopped too much in the air for it to show on the Hot Spot frame, Philander reviews it, but he will have to go back. 314/8
105.2 to M Morkel, bowled 'em! Cummins has five wickets on Test debut, and he is on a hat-trick, fabulous stuff, Morkel was in the crease, probably expecting the short ball, but Cummins shattered his stumps, getting the yorker spot-on. 314/9
109.6 to DW Steyn, six wickets in the innings for Pat Cummins on Test debut, Steyn backs away and has another swing, this time the ball finds the edge and carries low to Haddin, who dives forward to complete the catch. 339/10
27107102.6213713100
1645723.56686200
19.6 to GC Smith, very timely breakthrough for Australia! That extra bounce worked to Lyon's advantage, Smith tried to repeat the boundary earlier in the over only this time he didn't ride the bounce properly and ended up slicing it to Hughes at point who took it quite easily to his right. 75/2
87.2 to MV Boucher, he's struck with the second delivery, or has he, slip takes the ball, but was an edge involved? it was the full length that had him driving, lots of flight on that one, and there is a healthy edge on that one as Boucher almost runs it straight to Watto at slip, wonder what all the confusion was about, Billy does the crooked finger after checking with the third umpire. 266/7

0.2 to SR Watson, Watson is gone! he has shouldered arms and flagged this one through to hit off stump, straightened from a length on off stump, Watson took a stride out and let it pass by, the bails go flying and Australia are up against it. 0/1
2.5 to PJ Hughes, poke from Hughes leads to his downfall, the openers are gone, Philander it is again, gets it to bounce from back of a length, not far from Hughes, would have required an incredible leave to survive that one, Hughes was already close to it with that across movement, and ended up edging it to second slip as he hopped and pushed hard at it. 19/2
40.4 to MJ Clarke, the captain's gone, his stumps are in a mess! Stunning ball, after taking a couple away off the seam, he gets this one to bend in drastically. Clarke was pressing forward when he noticed it coming in, and was trying to cover the gap between bat and pad, with the former thrust in front of the body. Too late, the ball skidded in past the inside edge and burst through to disturb the castle. Clarke looks gutted, the ball just did enough to disturb the bails. What a huge breach!. 145/4
69.1 to MEK Hussey, gone! Is Hussey referring it? He is.. Incisive length ball, holds its line, catches him on the hop as he looks to play to the leg side. He was on the back foot and that was hitting the middle of middle. The only thing that can save him is if it pitched outside leg. It didn't. Most of the ball is in the mat. Gone! South Africa need four wickets for the whitewash. What an epic ripper of a debut series Vernon is having!. 215/6
82.2 to BJ Haddin, Haddin's gone! The new ball has swung away at long last, and Philander has five again! He plans to do this every Test of his career. It angled in, landed back of a length and whistled away past an extravagant drive, taking the faintest of tickles on its way to Boucher. I didn't see the edge, but Haddin didn't review it. It was dying on him, but had enough legs to get into the gloves. What an absolute ripper of a Test match!. 287/7
2319814.269412120
83.4 to PM Siddle, Steyn has a wicket. All is well with the world. Siddle is gone to a super soft dismissal. Full, fast, straight, Siddle probably knew what was coming, he was back in the crease and got his bat down in time to save the pads, but ended up scooping it to Tahir at silly mid-on. Tahir takes the dolly with aplomb, Steyn goes berserk, and Siddle just jogs away.... 292/8
1964312.26966013
50.1 to RT Ponting, is that the last ball of Ponting's glittering career? It is the end of this innings, and what a strong effort it was. It has ended in rather meek fashion though. Short and pacy from Morkel, wide of off stump and asking to be left. Ponting's been very astute all morning, but this time he goes for a flat-footed cut. The pace and bounce on the ball is too much, it takes the edge and flies into the slips. The glint in the eye, the stony gaze, Ponting takes a look at the toe of his bat, which it where it hit, he sees it is over and marches off. No lingering, no theatrics. The handful of people in the ground rise to salute the legend.. 165/5
15.506313.97565000
36.5 to UT Khawaja, he didn't use the feet this time, and he is gone immediately, he wasn't picking the googly anyway, tossed up delivery, Khawaja stayed in the crease and pushed half-forward to feather it to Kallis at slip as it turned away, superb innings comes to a tame end, Tahir is over the moon. 141/3
