  • The ninth wicket unbroken partnership of 53 runs between Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed was Pakistan's best for this wicket against West Indies - home or away. This expunged previous record partnership of 41* runs between Ijaz Faqih and Rashid Khan at Adelaide on 28-01-1984. Incidentally the previous record stand for Pakistan against West Indies in West Indies was paltry 11 runs between Rashid Latif and Ata-ur-Rahman at Kingstown on 30-03-1993.
  • The catch of Curtly Ambrose was fourth for Shoaib Malik as a substitute, which takes him past Hassan Raza, Mohammad Wasim and Mushtaq Ahmed's tally of three catches. Now only Shoaib Mohammad (7) and Asif Mujtaba (6) have taken more catches as a substitute for Pakistan.
  • The victory target of 198 runs was the second lowest that West Indies failed to achieve at home soil. The lowest, however, still remains as 159 set by New Zealand at Georgetown on 03-04- 1996. West Indies had then lost by four runs.
  • Moin Khan has now captained Pakistan in five matches against West Indies, which equalled New Zealand's Lee Germon's record of most matches by a keeper captain against West Indies.
  • Wasim Akram won Man of the Match award for 20th time in his career. He became second Pakistani after Saeed Anwar (23) and tenth player overall to win 20 awards.
